Bought some cannisters with lids of a similar concept, in that they kept “airtight” by virtue of a (supposedly) silicon rubber donut shaped gasket that fit into a shallow groove in the lids (to retain it when you pulled off the lid. Apparently a kitchen environment is to difficult for these things, as the rubber donuts started going in about 14 months and all 4 were gone within 2 years (some cannisters were opened more often). And of course there are no replacement gaskets, but you can buy new cannisters (at ever increasing prices) and send the originals to the landfill. My guess is since these may be kept near stove / oven they may not last more than a year and then you will be looking for new spice containers. I solved my spice jar issue over a decade ago, by standardizing on simple standard size / shape square jars with industry standard screw on lids. They are available from several companies whose entire business is jars, bottles, and hundreds of other containers both dedicated and specific use. Yes, they have high minimum orders (commonly $100 total) but the advantage is since lids are sold separately you can for example buy 50 small and 50 larger square “spice bottle” that both accept the same lid and buy 125 (or more ) lids and have plenty for years.
I’ve been getting my jars from Selefina spices (division of Adagio teas). They’ll send you a bottle with a custom label of whatever you want for $1 a pop. Too cheap not to go that way.
