Man I wish the horror pack had more stuff from the 80’s like Nuke em High and the Toxic Avenger kind of stuff. Anyone know of a collection that resembles the old program “Up All Night” that was on USA network?

Guys, any word on closed captions? I’m hearing impaired and rely on closed captions (subtitles) a lot when watching movies. I’m assuming none of the titles will have captions, but has anyone seen anything or know?
Otherwise I’d snatch the horror movie box up in an instant
I’m wondering the same thing for my girlfriend, who’s hard of hearing. Anybody know?
Does anybody know about any special features? Director’s cut? Alternate endings? Director’s commentary? That sort of stuff?
Wants to know if they are digitally remastered…? o_O
I just looked through the list of horror movies; these are probably the most well known titles.
The Lost World (1925)
White Zombie (1932)
Metropolis (1927) – This movie has been edited so many different ways you don’t really know what you’re getting: it’s just not right without the 80s techno music.
The Brain That Wouldn’t Die (1962)
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920)
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
The Phantom of the Opera (1925)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923)
Nosferatu (1922)
Little Shop of Horrors (1960)
House on Haunted Hill (1959)
The Last Man on Earth (1960) – This isn’t really well known, but it’s an earlier version of I Am Legend/Omega Man and contains the epicness of Vincent Price
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920)
Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966)
The Tell-Tale Heart (1960)
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)
It’s like ten years of Netflix for the price of a few months!

No more horror!! Oh the humanity!!!

More like “No more horror?? Oh the horror!!” AMIRITE?
How exciting, the Mystery set was still available. Although this is now a Christmas present from my husband to me, so I’ll have to wait a few months to watch any of these, seems like a great deal. Thanks Woot!
Arghhh… d&mn you all for buying out the horror collection already! May zombies come eat your brains and suck your livers.
Hey, great deal Woot! In for two different sets. Will give us a lot to choose from on those rainy days when there is nothing interesting on TV.
I have purchased these various movie packs from Treeline (now Mill Creek) over the years and have an extensive DVD collection. They ARE worth the price if you have an open mind and not expecting HD quality for pennies.
For the most part they are worn, faded, and/or badly compressed often taken from old broadcast beta tapes or 16mm but many of the titles contained are the ONLY way you can get them. We call them “fillers” which can fill in a gap in a collection until an official release ever comes about. And with what we have learned recently, Hollywood will not be releasing “classics” on DVD anytime soon due to the economy and poor sales. Also keep in mind that what you get here are titles that have fallen into Public Domain status.
As one person noted, if you can’t find entertainment in watching old movies that are not million-dollar restorations, then pass these by. If you want some old fashioned popcorn entertainment or to add to a collection then definately buy these sets. What can one expect for about .13¢ per movie?
And yes, there will be 250 “movies” and in some cases “serial episodes” in a set, not pick and choose.
Arrrgh. Horror and Western sold out. I curse my inability to stay awake for another 40 minutes last night. (Bangs head on table.)
I don’t think I can handle the Mystery set. The un-MSTed version of “Mitchell”, with more oily drunken Joe Don Baker/Linda Evans canoodling, would probably cause my spleen to jump up and strangle me.
The movies are NOT digitally remastered… So beware sound and visual quality may not be what you are expecting!

Yes you are!
It’s not going to be as good of a deal as on woot, of course… But if any of you wanted the sold-out Horror set, you could always pick it up from Amazon.com
I just did…
I was torn between Mystery and Horror. My decision was just made for me - first woot ever, definitely not last!

Halfway through the Horror title list and I see no less than 10 movies done on Mystery Science Theater 3000, including “The Brain That Wouldn’t Die”, “Bloodlust” and “The Killer Shrews”
Also see the original “Little Shop of Horrors” featuring Jack Nicholson. I think I might have to be in for 1 out of morbid curiosity.
I think that has sold me on the Horror one
If anyone changes their mind and doesn’t want the horror pack, please send me a message and I’ll buy it from you. Thanks.
