Anyone have experience with this?
What games are on it?
They don’t give a list.
Handheld Retro-Gaming Console - 3P Experts
These tend to be android games, knock off games, etc.
That’s a shame. The pictures looked like it has some version of a Capcom Marvel fighting game and I got excited.
This isnt the 3P model, but here is an example of a similar device’s 400-in-1 game list.
Most likely a bunch of NES, SNES (thanks cleverett : p) and Gameboy titles. Expect repeats and “hacked” ROMs, which are modified original games
Scroll down the page a bit for the games list.
This image seems to be implying that the games (or at least some of them) are SNES titles:
Of course, that may just be what they want you to believe.
I bought same exact thing on Temu for less than $5, the quality is subpar, shell feels 3D printed.
Probably around 60 games, where it repeats the games with different skins.
No actual good games. All unlicensed and quick games with no save system. So like old arcade games
My son has something very similar. Gifted to him last Xmas. It does have alot alot of games. Did I say Alot? His came with a cord to attach to the TV and 2 basic controllers. I played pinball on it. It does have games like galaga and asteroid shooter. And the snake one where you get longer snake.
Point is. It’s cheap and kids now prefer a cellphone used to play playatore/Apple store games with YouTube.
For an adult? Look at the rg35xx series and higher. That use a SD card to load roms. With console access
Oh damn no saves definitely kills it. There used to be a button press you could do to access a save state menu.
It likely does if it has 4 buttons, but I’m not sure how they would use triggers if SNES uses triggers
I bought this elsewhere on the net. Listen to me as I say, this is an emphatic skip.
The images led me to believe I could play what appears to be at least X-Men: Children of the Atom. Not even close baby! It offers NES and Gameboy era roms. That’s it.
I don’t know what hillbilly math gets you to 400 games but the reality is much bleaker than advertised. Also, the games repeat! Shown are 4 buttons, but even the inputs repeat. (Think AB and “Turbo”AB)
This wouldn’t be a deal at half of Woot’s price and I paid considerably more. Don’t let my sacrifice be in vain.
Go find the Datafrog 2000. You can thank me later.
Get the 64G variant of the RG35XX for $43 shipped when you apply coupon code: GAME52
I suggest Anbernic or if you want affordable, powkiddy. If you want to set up your own ROMs from a blank system, Retroid Pocket.
Also a big tell for what games it can play would be the number of buttons. With only 2 buttons and a D-Pad, you’re only going to be able to play gameboy and NES. The ones with 4 buttons are capable of a lot more games, and also shoulder buttons
You did say a lot. You said it three times. You spelled it incorrectly each time. Try say a lot, a lot more. lol. Seriously though thanks for this tip. All the best! Cheers!
Does anyone know if it has Pokemon games?
Official ones? No way.
For what it’s worth…I think the display, case, and button pads are decently made. Not, like, good or anything, but if you find the games boring, there’s some room for hacking these little things with a RPi Zero or the like.
