But does it work with my iPhone?
Let the frag-fest commence…
I purchased these on a previous Woot deal. They are CRAP. I have a lot of Samsung devices and I could only get them to actually connect to one of about 5 devices. They ONLY work with Samsung devices and I could only get them to work with my phone which I traded in for Google Pixel. Most of them are still sitting in the package on my desk. The Tile devices actually work with multiple devices including my wife’s Samsung Phone.
Do these operate on the find-my-phone network?
Works well for us. We have several of them.. From cars to out kids’ backpacks. The adults have Samsung phones. We can use Samsung Find to find any of the tags… We haven’t had any issues. There may be a time or two when it’s slow to acquire a ping but it eventually gets it. Otherwise it’s fairly quick. It does require another Samsung/Android device to get a ping from, but for us, it looks like there’s enough of those walking around and close to the tags whenever we check location that we haven’t had any issues. So we would recommend.
That’s not true. A developer made an app for them for all Android devices. Everything I’ve seen on it says it works great
I’ll take them if you don’t want, my friend has an S22 and they work great for her. We did a test with her luggage, airtags and Samsung smart tags in the same luggage. Samsung didn’t lag too far behind.
Are these small, thin enough to work in a men’s wallet? Thanks.
If the posted dimensions (28.8 x 52.44 x 8.0 mm) are correct, I’d say no, unless you’re rocking a 3 inch thick wallet.
Take 8 US quarters, 2 stacks of 4, and tape that together for a size analog.
you flagged/removed my comment: though i wrote it as a joke, i was raising a serious threat to privacy, so i hope you removed it because you didn’t want anybody “taking the suggestion”
I hope you didn’t remove it because you care about selling off the schlock and don’t care about vulnerable people’s privacy.
so which is it, are these a threat to people’s privacy (in the way I suggested) or is that threat vector handled so that they are not?
if you remove this one, I’ll know your answer, nudge nudge wink wink
Thanks for the PSA, but the admins here allow all manner of warnings, crap-talk, naysaying, and discouragement.
More than I’d have ever thought possible, for a legitimate retailer.
