haven’t used this specific product, but i have 5 x Airthings 2930 Wave Plus - Radon & Air Quality Monitor (CO2, VOC, Humidity, Temp, Pressure)
and 1 x of their hub - all work great.

When these numbers go wrong does it result in people becoming vulnerable to cold?

If the temp is low, people will be cold, yes.

No, I meant people becoming sick with cold because of humidity changes and airborne pollutants.

Sounds like a question you should ask your doctor.

I just bought one of these from amazon, I’ve had it for about 5 days and it seems to work fine. The only thing i can compare it to is one of the charcoal tests which came back at 5.7, this unit was showing around 10 for a few days, but now that its not raining and the ground isn’t so wet it’s close 6.

it is a great price for one of these, and if you intend on testing for radon i would recommend just getting this. the charcoal tests are 15-25 bucks, but they only give you a number for a 3 day period, and you have to pay to ship it to the lab, so its easily $30 for each test. When i did my 3 day test with a result of 5.7 it recommended a retest, so i just bought this instead of wasting another $30 for only a partial picture.

Thanks for the link, but it is available at my store with 8 also available for shipping. So anyone looking, YMMV.

I bought one of these last month from woot to monitor radon levels in my basement and it seems to be working well.

Easily one of the best purchases I have made. Have had one in my basement for over a year now, and ended up having a radon mitigation system installed. No regrets buying one as it was a simple way to keep my family safe.

I have a Wave Plus and two Minis. The Minis work fine. The Wave Plus keeps disconnecting from the hub until it’s worn down the batteries trying to connect, then it reconnects until I change the batteries, at which point it disconnects again. And support is awful.

We’ve been running what I can only speculate must be an earlier version (model 223) of this Woot version for a couple years, in our basement, where I have an office/home theater setup. Gives some peace of mind Radon levels are OK… assuming your readings are low like ours. We keep it near where we sit and fully exposed to the air.

If you’re in an area of the map shown in the photos with potentially high radon levels, getting one of these seems to be as important as your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. If you have any gas appliances/furnace/water heaters or natural fireplaces/wood stoves, you do have carbon monoxide alarms, right?

If this unit shows dangerous levels, contact a reputable Radon remediation firm. The solution might be as simple as installing ventilation along the foundation.

Our model is currently a lot more expensive at $179, than when we paid about $100 at mother Amazon. Not sure if the specs are the same, but some of the reviews are educational.

Get that mitigated! Shouldn’t be that high.

A cold is a virus that you can only catch from other humans.

that’s the plan, I wanted to see what was going on first before spending a bunch of money based off of one test.

I have one of the older models (model # not known as I’ve let my parents borrow it for a few months). I’ve used it consistently for the past two years to validate that my mitigation system was still operating effectively. As others have stated, if you live in an area known for radon, it would be advised to pick one up. Both to use as initial test to determine the need for mitigation, and as routine monitor.
