Some friends of my parents were having a yardsale a loooong time ago when I was moving into my house. They pretty much fixed me up with nice lamps and hose reels.
I like it. It matches nothing in my house and that is just my style.
I think I gave it a home. We shall see.

my therapist recommended yard sales-after I’d had mild steroidal psychosis from prednisone Rx after sinus surgery!
She wanted me to go to yard sales to get out around people and “normalize my reality” but she didn’t realize yard sales can be an alternate reality by themselves.
Right? There is some really odd stuff at yard sales!

Speaking of fun lamps - I saw this one on a renovation show and bought a pair for my new office - they are so not what I would have typically purchased
I decided to do the whole office in flamingos - I don’t typically have any type of theme or style other than “oh, I like that,” but I decided to lean into the flamingos and pink (not normally a pink person either)
That is great. Themes can be fun and the certainly do help rooms look cohesive.
Time to go make some more lamps…
I saw a stuffed deer head for sale this past weekend - it was just thrown on top of a bunch of other things at an outdoor market. This little girl was at eye level and was just staring at it.
I talked to it - well send my thoughts. Almost bought it to give it a “proper” home, but didn’t hoping someone would really want to buy it (apparently there is a big second hand stuffed deer head market) to display it proudly (?)
Now that I think about it - would have made for an interesting conversation piece - “oh so you hunt” - “nope, he/she looked lonely and wanting a good home, so I adopted the head”
