Windows 8 compatible!
Not sure if the DisplayLink software will work (or is even needed) for Windows 11.
Will it work for a Nintendo switch?
Not likely, no. This monitor requires the DisplayLink software/drivers to be installed in order for the host system to send video over USB. Purportedly MacOS might not have ever supported that either.
They did seem to add Windows 10 official support (probably because DisplayLink did) so I’d presume it works in 11 as well.
An Xbox is out too then. I wanted this for my kids to play games.
If it helps… I got the “FWUX” version of this monitor from Woot in 2016… (Same monitor except higher res LCD).
The displaylink drivers work great for me in Win11. I’ve used it every day for 9 years, through several laptops and OS upgrades.
Thank you.
I had one of these when I first moved, so like 9 yrs ago. I swear I dropped it so many times while it was connected to a computer and it worked for quite a while, although someone inconsistent with staying connected. Finally the port on it gave out. I probably should have figured out how to fix it, but I threw it away. I got my money’s worth. It’s not as thin or light as the usb-c portable monitors that are available, but the picture on it is probably better than any around this price point.
I have this exact AOC branded monitor, works great and likewise, various Windows laptops and upgrades including Win 11. I paid about $100 for it, so this is a great deal.
I think that’s the same one I bought. I love mine! That’s why I was looking at this one - to have 3 monitors when I travel. (I didn’t remember any spec’s from that one so long ago)
Same here. The plug port finally broke almost two years ago. It had to be over 7/8 years old. It worked great. Broke down and bought a 32” ultra monitor. I am tempted to buy this one. Mine worked with windows 11.
