As long as Apple does integrated memory on their products, im not a buyer.
I was skeptical too, but I am using a MacBook Air M1 8GB/256GB at work. The thing flies. Sure, I won’t do major video editing on it, but it is one of the slickest, fastest, best designed computers I have ever owned.
I use a Mac Mini M1 16GB/1 TB at home, typing right now on it. Best bang for my buck ever after years of Dells and home built PCs. I only notice the RAM difference when video editing.
RAM just works differently. It’s amazing.
It has nothing to do with how they perform. Its all about the availability and ease of repair for the end user. Apple purposely does these things so you’ll buy new and not try to update.
Wait til you find out about the other 9 million companies that engineer planned obsolescence products.
There is a big difference between buying a new fridge every 15 years and not being able to upgrade RAM and storage in a laptop/all in one.
