Apple iPad Pro 10.5" Tablet (2017 Model)

Apple iPad Pro 10.5" Tablet (2017 Model)

I purchased this when it first came out, albeit with more storage. It is still going strong and is more than enough laptop for 99% of ordinary users like me.

Hereā€™s our refurbished guide
Hi there. Hereā€™s our guide:

Not quite grade A but not S&D either.

Howdy. Hereā€™s our return policy:

Apple hasnā€™t announced end of support at this time but they generally support devices for quite a while.

This is a really good deal. I had this item and lost it (left on an airplane). The newer iPads have USB-C ports only. I believe this is one of the last Pro models with a regular headset port.

I have a 2nd gen iPad Air. Pretty old but still works fine. Iā€™m tempted to get this one just so I can go back to iOS11. I HATE iOS15. With a passion.

I returned one iPad to Woot because it couldnā€™t be updated past 11 or something and I couldnā€™t install the apps i needed. I believe this can be upgraded to 15. If apple continues to support this for at least a couple of years Iā€™m good.

By any means, this is a great deal if youā€™re in market for a sub $300 iPad.
ahead of old cheap iPad and iPad Air 3.
That being said, if you can shell $350-$399, an iPad Pro 2018 can be found on woot for the price.

Are you sure you can? Apple stops signing the older versions of iOS, so you canā€™t necessarily downgrade to it. Now if the tablet comes with iOS 11, this plan will work, but if it comes with a later version of iOS, youā€™re out of luck.

Is this any good for sketching? (for middle schooler) I am Windows/Android persons, but somebody once told me Apple has more/better drawing apps.

Yes it will update to Ios 16
iPadOS 16 is supported on iPads with A9 or A9X chips or newer,

I believe it said in the specs that it came with iOS11, but who knows? It would be an expensive mistake if itā€™s pre-upgraded to 15 and I wanted 11. And it probably wouldnā€™t work with my current apps if I sign in with my existing ID now that Iā€™ve upgraded to 15 on my iPad Air. Apple makes everything so complicated sometimes.

Mine arrived today. Seems to work ok. Couple scratches in the screen and a couple on the back, but overall good physical condition.

I am concerned, however, about the backlighting. There is a darker/brownish colored ā€˜borderā€™ in the screen, noticeable especially on white screens. There are also a couple brighter white fields in the middle. I guess Iā€™m concerned the screen will fail. Iā€™m also disappointed that this was sold as a refurbished unit, when it obviously was not.

Looking into asurion extended warranty option that is linked on the sale page, it looks like this is not even covered by that because it does not include a manufacturerā€™s warranty. Unless I am misreading something.

Guess I need to weigh my options

This is eligible for the Asurion warranty. We are working directly with them.
