We sell a lot of refurbished items here on Woot! But sometimes we call them different things. So, in an effort to help explain and inform, here are the types of refurbs we sell:
Factory Reconditioned – A “factory reconditioned” item was returned, inspected, and restored to fully working condition by the original manufacturer or a certified partner. Each product comes backed by a manufacturer warranty OR our very own Woot! Warranty. It’s as close to new as you can get without technically being “new” but may show very slight signs of a previous life.
Grade A Refurbished - A “Grade A Refurbished” item was returned, inspected, and restored to fully working condition, but not by the manufacturer. Each product comes with our Woot! Warranty. It’s the same level of quality as a “Factory Reconditioned” item.
Refurbished (aka Grade B) – “Grade B” or “Refurbished” covers everything from buyers’ remorse returns to products whose defects have been repaired by the pros to damaged packaging to discontinued items. Each product comes backed by a vendor warranty OR our very own Woot! Warranty. Refurbished items may show some minor wear from previous use.
Scratch & Dent (aka Grade C) – “Grade C” or “Scratch & Dent” items have been tested to be full working condition but are expected to have a moderate level of wear & tear including (but not limited to) scratches, dents, and dings. Each product comes backed by a third party warranty OR our very own Woot! Warranty.
New Open Box – This product has never been used. The product has been opened to add, remove, or replace items such as warranty cards, user manuals, or accessories. The item may come in a retail box but could ship in a plain box. New Open Box items come backed by a manufacturer or vendor warranty OR our very own Woot! Warranty.
Open Box on Clearance – “Open Box” items on our clearance page are opened items from a customer return, photo sample, etc. The items have been tested to work but some non-essential items may be missing from the box. These items may not ship in a retail box. They sell at a reduced price and reduced Woot! Warranty.
Blemished – Blemished items may show a small amount of wear and tear as a result of shipping damage or brief use - but only products with superficial flaws are resold. All blemished models have been inspected to ensure that the structural integrity and function of the product remains of the highest quality. If you purchase a blemished model, you are agreeing to accept the product as-is. Blemished items come backed by a manufacturer or vendor warranty OR our very own Woot! Warranty.
