Curious Froody, why do you “volunteer” for woot. I mean I volunteer my time, now retired, for many causes.
Just curious why you volunteer your valuable time, for a “channel” of a Trillion dollar company? What benefits do they give you, come on, saying you don’t work, but, are a volunteer sounds disingenuous.
I don’t upgrade phones as often as most people so I don’t keep track of pricing trends but what might we expect the standard price of a new iPhone 15 to be AFTER the iPhone 16 arrives at retailers – likely this September?
We really don’t get paid. I personally do it because I care about the community here. We can do as little or as much as we went and there are no time requirements. It’s just because we can, I think. ThunderThighs does the real work.
Having to send mine back because it could not be activated. Xfinity stated it can only be activated with Verizon Pre-paid… even the IMEI 2 gave them issues. This was not worth the headache!
I just ran into the exact same issue. They say no carrier restrictions but these are Apple IMEI locked and cannot be activated. At least the two I received are. Contacted woot for refund.
Please reach out to Woot! Customer Service. To speed things up, let them know if you prefer a return/refund or a replacement (if possible).
Please allow 24-48h for them to respond.
Browser: Use the Woot! Customer Service form.
Woot! App: Choose Account from the bottom navigation and then Support.
Self-Return: Items without Li-Ion batteries can be self-returned within 30 days. Go to your Order Details to get started. The return label will be emailed from UPS, not Woot.
Note: Woot! Customer Service replies go to the email address on your Woot! account, not your Amazon login email if used/different.
I was finally able to get these activated with straight talk. I have no clue how I did it. Like you I spent hours on chat/phone with them. They kept telling me these were locked phones. Finally I reached someone with a brain and they escalated my issue to their “specialized support” and about a week later we were able to activate them. I also contacted Apple asking them to release the IMEI, but they closed my ticket stating unable to resolve. So I have no idea what ultimately fixed the issue. I’m not sure my time was worth any amount I saved.
Very disappointing that Apple just shrugged you off. When you can provide proof of a legit sale they’re supposed to have an avenue to HELP, not BLOW OFF.
Woot needs to have a conversation with the original seller of these and determine the issue. A bunch of paid returns and restocking because the description isn’t correct is an ex$pensive mistake.
