Phone came in decent condition, was pretty satisfied. However they say the battery is tested to have 85% capacity, but Apple system settings states this phone only has 81% maximum capacity. So caveat emptor.
Not sure what battery replacement costs, but I believe it to be about $95. My particular device was sourced from GoWireless.
This is the third iPhone I purchased from woot that is unsatisfactory. There is a significant scratch on the screen very noticeable during use and the battery is at 80% which is 5% below advertised. I would expect to pay far less for a phone in this state.
The last phone was severely scratched screen and 78% battery, the phone prior had a cracked lens and chips in the screen. One phone out of 4 was in acceptable condition.
Chances of getting a decent phone is like playing the lottery- good luck!!

We do state this:
They may have minor cosmetic blemishes to the body of the unit and surface scratches on the screen. This will not impair use of the device.
