Before you think about buying, I’d check out this video that talks a little about the Beats brand and why they sound so “good”.

To be fair, the video is only really talking about how electronic devices branded with “Beats Audio” are screwing with you.

Beats by Dre are perfectly decent headphones that just happen to be 4x more expensive than they really should be. The only positive I see about them is that it’s forced other manufacturers to make their headphones more stylish.

If you;re willing to drop the cash on these, get a pair of Grado 225s instead. Or spend a bit more for the 325s. Your ears will thank you.

For the price you really can’t beat Grado phones. Personally I actually prefer the 225i to the 325i. They’re both amazing headphones though, especially for the price. Amazon has the 225i for $20 less than these Beats and they sound sooo much more accurate.

I own a pair of these. They are the real ones, not fake. They are very inferior to most headphones. They do not come close to audiophile quality and they are veru mediocre at best.I own 10 pairs of headphones and these are the last that I actually use.You can buy a lot of good headphones for under 100 bucks that can easily shine above these.

Personally, I’m more of a fan of Sennheiser. These are decent cans, but not for their price point. You’re paying for marketing (Bose anyone?).

Beats is the new Bose. Overhyped and overpriced mediocre quality audio. If you want that over exaggerated bass and high end, just turn in the EQ in your existing phone.

This video is more about “Beats Audio”, a feature found in cell phones and computers, NOT the headphones themselves. Just a heads up.

How come this beats muffs does not have the endorsement of Dre MD? If he didn’t put his seal of approval on it, how can they gurantee his rapping will come out crystal clear like the way it comes out on my boombox?

edit…I altavista’d the world wide web and sees many hyperlinks in cyberspace that says it is in fact endorsed by the Doctor himself.

Now I see Run DMC has his own set of muffs too. I can’t tell which one is better, I have to go compare each other’s rapping so see which one to get.

I work for a retailer, we sell these. Flimsy junque, high returns for falling apart. Would not make my list of brands to buy.

Audio Technica ATH-M50

Beats Audio is overhyped junk IMO, marketed to bassheads that want something loud. The audio quality is lacking on everything Beats I’ve demoed (when considering the price). About the only thing I thought Beats did well was laptop audio years ago when they first came about. But these days lots of manufacturers have stepped up their game and decent audio can be had from any number of laptops out there.

As far as decent headphones I’d recommend the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7B or Sennheiser HD-280 headphones over anything labeled Beats. They’re cheaper, more durable, and the audio is good.

Woot was selling the Zoro HD phones for $55 not long ago; I bought those and they sound great, look pretty much like these but aren’t (a good thing), and were one fourth the price. And they got a great review from CNET. Even at $99 from Amazon the Zoros are better than these for half the price.

Why WOOT keeps posting these headphones? They are not worth more than $25.00 That would be the highest I would pay for them and would give them away as gift.
My advice, look for brand names that KNOW about sound quality.
Beats headphones are just loud, cheap with distorted base.
And Beads Audio is just a cheap 2-way preset equalizer.

Don’t waste your money with these headphones. They are decent headphones but you’re paying for the name and marketing. Plus unlike other noise cancelling headphones batteries are always required even when you are not using the noise cancelling function. Also the n.c. isn’t very strong. Do you self a service and get a nice pair of grados headphones plus they’re American made
