Most of the reviews indicate a severe fire hazard from this thing. The one I had nearly burned my apartment building down.
Damn this is a nice toaster I missed this one I probably would have bought this toaster, and its a good price.
Doh bought this before I read any of reviews. Apparently it has a little motor that humps the toast up and down past the single element as it cooks until the bread catches on fire

I’ve had the toaster for over a week now, no flame issues. I think that as long as you don’t want your toast black, it should work just fine.

Well, it’s true. On my third time using it the thing lit half an English muffin on fire. Not like a match flame - but a real fire - tore the plug from the wall and tossed a pot of water on it. Damn thing is scary. Can we return this Woot?!?
