Anyone else have a problem copying text in the Android app? I can highlight text but no menu comes up with options to copy. I used to be able to do that but haven’t the last few months, and I’m not sure why. My other phone still has an older version of Woot, and it works on that one. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I’ve been having this problem for the past week & a half or a little longer now. Can’t copy & paste at all in the app. Forums and sale pages. When I’m in the forums I have to highlight text then copy quote & paste & edit out the extra text which is annoying. I figured woot did it on purpose with one of the app updates.
Tried it on 3 different Motorola android phones with 3 different android versions.

What about other apps? The woot app and woot forums are completely different. If they’re acting the same, it makes me think it’s an Android issue.
I thought this was normal. 
My first time trying to play the dice game from my phone/app and I figured only being able to quote and not copy was just a woot/discourse thing…

Clockwise from upper left. Chrome app, amazon.app, Woot app & the last one is the Opera app. Now that I think back it’s been happening for the past couple maybe few weeks, but I though you guys did it intentionally

I’m looking at those screenshots & thinking it could be a Google related issue, but I don’t know the inner workings of why it wouldn’t let you copy & paste on the woot app. It wasn’t always like this. You used to be able to copy & paste here because I did that a lot to look up things from here to the mothership. Now I either have to screenshot it & select text or just type it in manually. It’s just an annoyance

Always worked for me and today was the first time i noticed it not working when i tried to copy paste the dice game.

A couple more screenshots. I used to be able to copy & paste from the ad description and title. The “copy” prompt does not come up anymore on either.

Update: One staffer reproduced the issues so I opened a ticket to our devs. It’ll be next week most likely before they can look at it.

You’re welcome & no problem. I hope they don’t spend too much time on it just for a few people here. Most people wouldn’t even have said anything. Like I said it’s just an annoyance

Both. I’m using a Pixel 6 on Android 16. Here are some screen shots showing the lack of a copy menu for both the store and the forum, along with the Woot Android app build number.

Adding to the heap. I’ve noticed this for at least several weeks, but figured it was a new “feature” of the crApp.
Workaround for me is to “share” the listing from the crApp to Chrome, where highlighting does bring up thr copy & paste menu.

Same here on Pixel 8 pro, Android 16. I also can no longer press and hold product images to select and search google lens like I used to be able to do. Seems like both were lost about the same time.

I woke up & just bought a bunch of stuff at the 25% off sale….IT DOESN’T WORK FOR THE CODES EITHER WAAAA!!! Forgot about that one. Trying to type in TWENTYFIVE in the checkout was a beech

I’ve had this same issue for a while now. Sometimes I can press and hold on the highlighted text and then drag it to Google or Chrome, but not within pages of the Woit! application listings or forums. Very frustrating and inconvenient. No such issue using a browser.
I will await a response from dev support.

My workaround as well but doesn’t work in the forums, which is what drove me to finally post about it.
