Oh, and another thing. Sateen finish is absolutely the WORST finish for bed linens there is. Sateen sheets don’t slide when rubbed together so making a bed is a minor nightmare. Percale is much superior and making a bed is a dream. I host two Airbnb properties so I know of what I speak. It takes twice as long to make a bed with sateen sheets.
Eh, I don’t have a problem with Sateen. It’s a personal choice.
Good Sateen sheets have a soft hand feel, it is a personal choice, percale sheets have a crisper and cool feel. As you go higher on the thread-count, most sheets are made from fabric that use the sateen weave. The advantage of cotton blend sheets - they have the right mix of comfort and performance and are a good value, they are wrinkle free while having the softness and feel of cotton sheets.
Received my percale sheets today and have to say I’m pretty disappointed with the fit. Listing claims the pockets are deep enough to fit 17" mattress, but I’ve got a good 5" gap on the sides (my mattress measures 14" high). Flat sheet isn’t wide enough to drape over to cover it either. Maybe I don’t understand what “deep pockets” means but other listings with the same have fit as expected so expected the same here!
Given I’ve washed them prior to trying to put them on my bed I’m assuming I’m stuck with them so hopefully they’re at least decent to sleep on/under, but disappointed so far!
