Seller refurbished vs manufacturer refurbished for one.

Looks like pressurized baskets. Get yourself some unpressurized baskets. Trust me.

Please explain why you said avoid pressurized baskets? I am not very familiar with these types of machines, and don’t even know what these baskets are. Please help Wooters who are unfamiliar with these coffee machines, and expand on your comment. Thanks.

Pressurized baskets create pressure, while unpressurized baskets do not. Unpressurized baskets rely on the puck to create pressure instead of the basket. If you really get into it there is a lot of physics involved. Unpressurized just tastes better. For pre-ground coffee a pressurized basket will work fine since the grind is usually pretty coarse. Espresso should always be fresh ground with a burr grinder though. It is concentrated coffee, so any change in grind size, temperature, tamping technique, and even the type of water used will change the taste. Finding a compatible unpressurized basket for these types of machines can be difficult though, since they don’t advertise the basket size. The standard is 51mm, but some machines will have smaller baskets. I have a super-automatic machine now, but I used to be into the whole “craft” back in the day.
