This is one of the strangest configurations I’ve seen in a generator. Most inverter gens in the 30 amp range have an 8 hour run time on a similar amount of fuel, produce between 56-59 dB (depending on how cheap it is), and have more outlets giving the option to hook up either 2 standard extension cords OR 1 RV-30 amp cord.

63 dB? 3 hours run time? That’s too loud to take camping and too inefficient to use during a storm outage. Research competitors that are just $100 above this price point before buying.

My first thought when I saw it:

Mine, too - Exactly!!

Wait a minute… There are so many things wrong with this picture, but to name a couple:

  1. The kid is trying to start this while the cord is plugged in. This is usually a no-no when starting generators.

  2. There are two girls there and he’s more concerned with starting a generator.

  3. There are two girls there and no sign of parents. Why is he so concerned with that damn generator?!

I don’t know how someone that doesn’t own this product or any inverter generator can say anything about the noise level of the product. I DO own an inverter Generator make by Coleman, but a previous model.

A few things that were said previously would be unkown to those who dont understand the engineering behind this hybrid generator.

Most comments are based on best guesses and not fact or first hand experience…

THE FOLLOWING CLARIFICATIONS SHOULD BE MADE;

*THESE HAVE A DECIBEL RATING OF A NORMAL 2 PERSON CONVERSATION
*THE SOUND CREATED ONLY CARRIES 10 FEET.
*THESE DONT HAVE (OR NEED) A VERY LARGE FUEL CAPACITY.
*THESE ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPSITES
*I USE MINE ON CAMPGROUNDS THAT DONT ALLOW GENERATORS BECAUSE OF THE TYPICAL GENERATORS NOISE, BUT I HAVE USED THIS ON THOSE CAMPGROUNDS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM.
*YOU WOULD SEE IT BEFORE YOU HEARD IT.
*ONE GALLON USUALLY GETS ME THROUGH AN ENTIRE CAMPING TRIP
*I don’t understand how the engeneering works or anything, but my inverter Generator creates almost as much power as it consumes… of course, some energy will be lost when creating electric power through any tech like solar panels, etc.
*This is NOT MEANT TO POWER A HOME OR ANYTHING MORE THAN YOUR ELECTRONICS FOR 2 PEOPLE, LIKE A COUPLE LAPTOPS AT A TIME OR A 24 INCH LED TV ETC. Things you would bring to hotel…
*There are solar add on options etc
*THESE CAN ALSO BE USED TO CHARGE LARGE CAPACITY BATTERIES TO USE AND REUSE BUT JUST INCASE OF EMERGENCY IF YOUR CAMPONG I WOULD ALWAYS RECOMMEND EXTRA CHARGED POWER SOURCES ON HAND TO BE SAFE.

Like a t’a in the win!

Now serious. I have the Harbor Freight invertor genset. It’s a backup to my 8kw generator and only would be used to run 1 fridge and/or the sump pump as needed. I keep a can of starting fluid, a spark plug wrench and it’s strapped [url-https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/pict/182285281653_/Cosco-Heavy-Duty-Folding-Hand-Truck-and-Dolly.jpg]one of these to move around as needed

It’s quite, doesn’t seem to burn much fuel but I only run it once every other month for about 15 minutes under load, top it off then wheel back into storage. If I let it set too long, I end up having to pull the sparkplug out, blow in some starting fluid, hook everything back up, one pull and it’s good to go. Not a good thing if it’s dark, and emergency and you need power. But it does work pretty well.
