Great working knife for $25. The flipper works well. I don’t think it’s a pretty knife but well built and sturdy for opening boxes and cutting sandwiches. Easy to get the edge back with a honing steel. AUS8 steel is also supposed to be fairly corrosion resistant.
I picked one up a couple of months ago. Not the best looking knife by any means. My grandson who is 5 calls it “the turd knife”. With the ball bearing opening system this thing is amazingly smooth. Overall construction is top notch. Well worth the asking price.
What good is the Ambidextrous flipper if you can’t flip the pocket clip to carry it in your left pocket? I know lefties are much rarer than righties, but CCW holders are not all that rare, and it makes no sense to carry your knife in your right pocket if you’re a CCW holder and right handed. Just saying.
So what exactly stops you from putting it in any pocket. All that happens is that the knife points a different direction. Do you need it at the ready in case you need to stab something in .02 seconds?
The problem would be that the “flipper” would be in a position to jab into your left hand and possibly open the knife in your pocket when reaching for your car keys, etc. I own this knife and like it, but if I were a lefty, I would not.
This. Not to mention (but I will) whenever you pull your knife out, it is extremely convenient that it be pointing in the correct direction for one handed opening, no matter what it is you need to stab, slash, or poke with it (I’ll admit, I open, and break down boxes a lot more often than I stab perps, but it’s nice for it to be facing the right way when pulled out for either one).
I liked the deal and was completing my purchase when the “can’t ship to you” message showed up. What’s the deal with no shipping to certain addresses even though there is no legal restriction?
Do they have to pay licensing fees to owners of “South Park” for use of Mr. Hankey?

Generally, legal restrictions in where you live. But, certainly others will comment to complain that we are overly sensitive with our adherence to said restrictions! It is something we are slowly re-considering.

I’m going to have to disagree with the quality of construction; I bought one the last time Woot ran this item and the lock mechanism quit working after 3-4 months - making it dangerous to use and fairly worthless as a tool. The blade is still razor sharp though

Interesting. I have both the red and the brown and carry one or the other every day since purchasing them in June and July respectively. I have had no issues with the lock up or any other aspect of the knives.
I would contact CRKT. They are a great company and will most likely fix or replace your knife.
