what ports does it have- can’t believe that is not in specs- sloppy woot.
Found this on Dell site for thus model. Still doesnt excite me, no touchscreen.

You can get a new 512 GB ssd card for $30 so why pay $50 for an upgrade?
- SSD is guaranteed to work.
- Don’t have to potentially damage your laptop trying to get the case off.
- Don’t have to install an OS and all the apps.
- Don’t have a 256BG SSD laying around like a stray Lego.
For many people, that’s $20 well spent.
Believe it or not, not everyone is comfortable modifying or installing hardware on a laptop. The $20 is probably worth not having to deal with re-installing Windows alone.
I have gotten 2 of this model from Woot. The first one worked great, the 2nd one has two keys that don’t work consistently so it makes it very annoying to type on. Overall nice value.
I’d personally pay the extra to get an m.2 SSD.
Got this when it was 299 in November 2022 - review/thoughts that I’ve posted on a couple offerings:
Picked this up when it was here in November - Overall pretty happy with the machine (and happy to be able to get a machine with Win 10 on it vs Win 11) . Ours came with a 512gb SSD (the only option was 256 when purchasing), which was a pleasant surprise. my biggest issue, which isn’t all that major, is that the touchpad & “mouse” buttons are “oldschool” in that the touchpad doesn’t click at all, you can tap the touchpad, or use the separate buttons. Not that big of a deal, but it certainly makes the machine feel a bit “outdated”. Additionally, ours came with a dead pixel, but luckily it was down in the task-bar area so it isn’t all that noticeable. With all that being said, I still think it’s a great little machine for the price & a huge upgrade from the chromebook my wife was previously using for school.
Just noticed this is an i7 - we got an i5. Still, happy with our purchase.
The right side image shows a port with a Thunderbolt symbol - or is that indicating power?
Wooter185943598 conveniently listed the specs, above, but it reads “Optional Thunderbolt” - is it random chance if an order includes a Thunderbolt model?
The included image on woot shows a thunderbolt icon on the left side view.
Will this have enough horsepower to upgrade to Windows 12 or is going to wind up as a paperweight?
It meets the minimum processor spec for windows 11, I wouldn’t anticipate it working for win12, but thats years in the future. You might as well be worrying whether or not it will work for win 25, it will be far outdated before it gets to either of them.
This is a good deal! I would buy if I had a need for it. From experience, I don’t seem to use the touch screen feature for my windows laptop.
Does anyone know if the RAM is soldered or upgradeable?
From what I found, it looks like it has 2 slots. Usually there is 1 or 0. Great laptop.
Depends partially on what Dell has done, but the CPU can handle up to 64GB, which would be an amazing bit of overkill for the 99% who would likely be buying an older, business-grade laptop as a refurb … However, it does have accessible DDR4 SODIMM slots, so likely upgradeable if you have a specific need.
And iFixIt has replacement batteries, while we’re on the topic of cracking this open.
I just ordered one of these as a good backup system, since my last Lenovo (Ivy Bridge, or roughly 2012) finally decided that it wasn’t going to do its job anymore. While this doesn’t have the specs for most gaming, or supercomputing, it looks to be quite adequate for a lot of general use and productivity.
Thanks for the feedback. I waited too long to pull the trigger on the 512GB but snagged a 250. So I’ll probably go after a 512 or maybe a 1TB if it will take it and if so go to 32GB of RAM. Snooze and lose.
