Do you still have a Blu-ray player?

You probably don’t want to buy another one but some of the 4K Ultra players will play 3D Blu-Rays.

Yes and I am not interested in getting rid of it I just had to get rid of some of the VHS tapes I had. The 1000+ DvDs are too much of an investment and millstone to get rid of now

Wait. What? Why?

My Blu-Ray player has 3D, it’s just that it thinks my TV doesn’t. Probably because my TV is from 2009 so it may not be able to communicate over the correct HDMI version, despite the fact that the one on my TV is clearly capable of speaking 3D and other “modern” signals.

That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out.

Yes, but mostly because we still find the occasional desire to use projector for watching 3D movies with the kids. And this can only be done with BD + DLP projector to my knowledge (which is admittingly limited lol). But 3D content is seldomly created anymore for home consumption so we don’t have much of a collection.

But even then, BD is still superior (visually) than streaming content. Compression artifacts can be annoying so if there’s a really good movie we might purchase the 4K version on BD, but that’s not very common for us either.

But in the end, streaming is just too damn convenient for 99% of our consumption needs, though if you add in the ads, the convenience-factor drops significantly. There’s also the issue with many streaming platforms are now creating their own exclusive content that can’t be found elsewhere.

No, our house caught fire so at this moment we don’t have any electronics except a Roku to watch TV at the hotel. When we find a home it won’t be on my replacement list

Only safe way because things keep disappearing and moving around.

Yep. Mine is a Sony with many of the popular Smart TV apps built in.

Yes, but I could use a cheap spare UHD capable BluRay player if y’all want to sell them.

“DARK SIDE OF THE MOON” is great listening to say the least.

But Dude,

“ANIMALS” in 5.1 Will Blow You Away!!!
I had totally forgot how beautiful and “dreamy” that record was with its Jazz Fusion leanings at the time.
Richard Wright’s solo effort from those days “WET DREAMS” is also one to look out for.
