Great reviews (4.7 out of 5.0) over at bedbathandbeyond.com and very good reviews (4.5 out of 5.0) over at bestbuy.com

I bought my dad one of these (at full retail) for use in his during-the-work-week condo on the other coast. It’s a small place (<700 square feet) and he absolutely loves this vacuum for it. He says it’s great for getting in all the corners and under furniture, and much easier to deal with than a full size vacuum cleaner for that small space. He said he can easily do his whole place twice and still have battery charge left over. He’s not usually the type to rave about anything, so the fact that he even bothered to mention it to me unprompted speaks volumes to me about how much he likes this thing.

I bought one of these a few months ago (for $50 more). It’s a mixed bag. I have several dogs that track sand into my house so I have to vacuum at least every other day. My floors are sealed concrete.

This thing has two settings: regular and “high suck.” Who’s not going to use high suck all the time? Battery is good for about 8 minutes, then needs 5 hrs to recharge. I rarely get my whole place done in 8 mins.

Capacity of the dust bin is very small, I have to empty it at least once in the middle of my task.

You have to HOLD the trigger in to keep it on, which can strain the aging finger.

The beater bar gets so tied up in dog hair that I have to disassemble the head every other time I use it to remove the snarls. I’ve taken to going around the floor once without the head on, just picking up dog hair with the wand. That helps, though reduces the charge time available. My concrete floors are very hard on the plastic head; I figure to replace it at least once a year.

The suction (on high setting) is good; this is very good at picking up fine dust. The wall mount/charger that comes with it is very handy. A light on the plug indicates when it’s fully charged. The floor head is very maneuverable.

overall, I’d say this wasn’t wasted money (though I’d rather have paid $200 than $250!). I probably would not buy another one, if only for the much-too-small dust bin. It’s got its niche, for small homes and light duty, but I think for my situation I’d be better off with a full size canister vac.

I bought the dc35 a few weeks ago. Basically the same but this one has a more powerful head unit. DC35 is great (just like all the reviews say) so this one should be great too. Refurb is by dyson so you know they stick behind it and put out a quality refurb.

Buy with confidence!

Wow - a fefurbished Dyason Vacuum! I never heard of it…oh wait I mean UN-refurbished. How junky are these things that there are SOOOOOOO many refurbs available. Tattle is right. Woot has changed for the worse

Thanks you saved me $200!!

I’ve been considering it for a while now and finally sprang for it, because my little Bissel broom vac is underpowered, and my big Dyson doesn’t do that well on stairs. So I think this will fill in an important missing niche. Plus it will be handy for vacuuming out the car.

Bought this a few months ago and I absolutely love it! Great suction and as easy to use as a swivel sweeper but more powerful and so easy to empty the dust and dirt holder!! Another great feature…no filter!!

We just bought one a few months ago at full retail. Actually saved a bit from retail price at store that accepts multiple coupons. I doubt the amount of refurbished units is because of the quality. My guess is buyers remorse and unrealistic expectations. It might seem like a lot to spend on a cordless vac but when I compare it to some of the high end cordless drills I’ve used, the price point is right in line with those tools.
If you have a small apartment and space is at a premium, this makes sense. If you are trying to vacuum a full size house on one charge, it’s not the right tool for that job. We have a domestic short hair cat and the first time I used it it clogged up the pet attachment. After you disassemble the beater bar once or twice it’s not that hard. If you have long hair animals it may might be required more than you like.
We use it mainly for high use areas that require cleaning more often than the rest of the home. Also the wand and attachments are good for hard to reach areas like cobwebs on the ceiling or behind furniture where the full size vac won’t go.
I like the trigger just because it conserves battery life but if you suffer from arthritis in the knuckles it could be a pain. I was skeptical at first as we already have an expensive vacuum. I find myself using the Dyson more and more and routinely find new uses for it that make it the tool of choice over the Rainbow vacuum. The bugs can’t get away from me anymore by trying to climb out of my reach. They are met with the business end of an F5 tornado in a can.

One of my favorite woots of the last 2 years. I use it almost every day, it works great.

As another poster said, under 1000 sq ft and this thing is great. Love the power from the cordless. The fur attachment included does a good job getting fur off upholstery and clothing. As others mentioned - great for the car too. Suction with just the wand leaves a bit to be desired, but strangely gets the job done. The dust container is small. With a small husky, I either fill it to the ‘fill line’ and get easy dust removal, or I fill it to the top but then have to use my fingers to pull out the dust. I opt for the latter. At this price it is a worthwhile purchase for small homes.

Bissell Fur Eraser or this rechargeable model. I have the original (long) corded version and it gets fur off the couch.

Picked up a Woot! refurb about a year ago and it has been great. I was a little worried about buying a refurb but it came looking brand new and has run great for us.
If you plan on vac’ing the whole house, use a real vacuum. For quick clean ups or touch ups between deep cleanings, this thing does a great job.

So I live with a 51 yr old woman with hip/back issues and she has been begging for one of these. We have used nothing but a Rainbow the past 18 years ( it is 21 years old! ) but for the litter room ( 4 cats ) she wanted one cordless with a long wand to clean up litter tracking, hair and help clean hard to reach places in the house.

Is this great for that for her, considering a $220 price( shipping/taxes ) or is there a competitive solution at a better price?

Just received mine, thanks woot/ Now how the heck do I open the box???
