Regarding the condition numbers:
They’re the same. The inventory is in multiple SKUs and the Woot system doesn’t combine them.
Amazon’s silly naming convention undersells this “Echo Plus (2nd gen).”
It is actually a 3rd gen Echo + Zigbee hub if you need that. You can spot the difference - the 3rd gen is squatter and has softened edges… the 2nd gen is taller, with sharper edges.
Not that the 2nd gen Echo sounds bad - it doesn’t - but the 3rd gen Echo (this) sounds noticeably nicer.
The real deal on this sale was the now sold out “Echo (3rd gen)” for $30 vs this $55. One wonders what portion of shoppers here needs/wants the Zigbee hub function. We have this unit and have never enabled/used the Zigbee hub function.
General note on Amazon Used/Refurb (we’ve bought both and found little difference between the two) - immediately open and fully test any Amazon Used/Refurb product! Amazon’s evaluation process leaves much to be desired. Thankfully we’ve found Woot Customer Service to be very responsive… if you beat the return period.
