Flat Base Blade Sharpening Stone Kit

Flat Base Blade Sharpening Stone Kit

Curious to know. Does the angle guide get ground down with use?

me too, the price seems too good to be true if they are really those grit #s. Usually one 8k grit stone of quality goes for that price.

to answer your question, i wonder if these help prevent that issue.

Hi there! Tried to find this answer, I don’t see any mention of the angle guide getting ground down with use. Here are the original Amazon reviews that mention the angle guide if you’re curious: https://www.amazon.com/Razorri-Solido-Complete-Sharpening-Stone/product-reviews/B07YDLHGWW/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewopt_kywd?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&pageNumber=1&filterByKeyword=guide

So the angle guide is at the spine of the knife, and light to modest pressure is placed on the edge of the knife - far away from the guide. Very little, if any ware should happen on the guide.
Also, very little, if any ware because these stones remove almost no material. The grit used in the synthetic stones are not abrasive at all.
I have a 3000 stone that removed more material than this 400 stone. If you use these stones with your eyes closed, it would be difficult to tell them apart.
Also, the “strop” melts if you get it near heat. Must have used those synthetic cows…
So I guess the best part about this are the stands. I cut them down so I could fit the larger stones from Naniwa.
Not cheap, but give your money to Ryky Tran over at Burrfection and watch his YT channel to learn how to use them.
