Haier Aficionado 12-Bottle Stainless Steel Wine Cellar

Does anyone know if this is thing is noisy? I’d probably be putting it in my bedroom closet…

Bought a different Haier wine cooler as a Christmas gift a couple of years back. The thing was never able to maintain temperature, the temperature display went out on it within 6 months, and the compressor blew out after about 18. The worst part is, the thing was LOUD. The thing was garbage.

Couple that with the fact that you can get a dual zone wine refrigerator that doesn’t waste nearly as much space as this one (all in one cabinet) and with a higher wine capacity for the exact same price, and this is an auto pass.

35 Decibels Quiet

From the front page, under features. I’ve never heard it myself though.

Don’t look for very cold white wine from this. Thermoelectrics (like this) can only keep the wine at about 15 degrees below room temperature. But for reds they’re great. And there’s a video online to show you how to fix them cheaply when they crap out.

i have an 18 bottle haier, stopped working within a year, tried getting in contact w em, costumer service is terrible. however with a 3 year warranty through square trade might be a decent buy. i am soory for me though no more Haier!

you’d think this would be on wine.woot.com

Forgot to mention that the most noise from mine is a fan running. There is no compressor to make noise.

Yeah, I actually just saw that. Thanks for pointing it out.

According to some random website
“35 dBA Very quiet room fan at low speed at 1 m distance”

I wish I had 200.00 just so I could look cool having this.

Truely this is the end times.

I work at a store that sells almost exclusively kitchen appliances. This is great! Nice price, wish there was a better warranty offered. At least a respectable brand.

Also, 35 dBs is pretty quiet.

Nice job, Woot.

But to be quite honest, I trust Woot over that site.

Only found one review on the internet, saying ‘I am very pleased with this unit. This is ultra quiet and is terrific so far. Works perfectly and its built in capabilities make this product more perfect.’

Is it me, or do the ‘coolers’ say “22C” and “23C” on them? Wouldn’t that make them heaters?

Naw… wine.woot is for butter… oh wait, shouldn’t butter be in the home.woot? and wine sold on wine.woot?

oh well.

Sorry, I can’t find the product on the product website anywhere, even under support. Anyone else can take a crack at it, but here’s the customer support page:

Its not official, but it is full of information.

You’re crossin’ the streams, home.woot.

I know you’re new around here but just for the record stealing another man’s pitch is grounds for an asskicking.

Pretty good. They review bigger coolers under the same family. I think this quote looks like the key phrase:

“These affordable wine refrigerators by Haier are good-value wine storage solutions for beginner wine enthusiast who want to store their wines within suitable conditions away from direct sunlight but don’t want to or can’t afford to spend a a couple of thousands on a custom wine cellar.”

Line it with Spanish Cedar and add some sort of humidity control and you have a good temperature controlled cigar humidor. That’s what I did with my Igloo photovoltaic cooler and it works great.
