Do SSP cars count? I’m old and we had some cool toys when I was a kid.
Yes, every time I get in rush hour traffic on the freeway.

I’ve seen many a Woot! server meltdown, does that count?
I know your politics are a wreck. ![]()
Back in the early 90s there was a used car lot on 82nd ave in Portland where you could buy a junker in the range of $150-$300. It was my bright idea to get a few buddies, each buy one and then take them to a gravel pit outside of town for a crash derby.
After talking to somebody who used to do it and finding out that everything needs to be reinforced with rebar and concrete, the dream quickly died, and none of us did.
I was so looking forward to living out my dream of performing the Malachi Crunch.
It seems like it’d be fun. I think if I was going to partake, I’d get an old Crown Vic and reinforce it. Alas, I have no time for my existing hobbies, though.
Bumper cars were the best!
Drove in Rome once.
I was in 2 of them 50yrs ago! Came in third both times.
I was given tickets to Irwindale Speedway’s Night Of Destruction one year. They did several different versions of destruction races, not not just cars, also trailers and motorhomes, and some crazy-ass Figure 8 racing.
It was SO MUCH FUN!
I went a few more times, but sadly, the track closed last year.

Crash Nationals Santa Clara County Fairgrounds! No injuries. Ahhh to be young again.

yes, many, many decades ago…
The one I was in: My husband was passenger and gas pedal. I was driver and brakes only! It was super fun till we got hit in the back. (Hard to drive when you’re laughing so hard) Pretty bad whip lash and sore for a while
But was so fun!!
In my late 20’s, I worked at a race track. Drag races, super modifieds, and once a month, demo derbies. The track was torn down and is now a housing development.
I was in one at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL in the 80’s. They hosted them on the front straightaway. Absolutely a blast. I did a great job of protecting my radiator- until I couldn’t. Didn’t win, but placed 4th. No injuries. Living in Atlanta and traveling 285 feels just like it lol

Almost …Was knocked down crossing street at age 6 by drunk driver. Dad yanked my arm which was enough to save me. Remember next sitting on ground staring at front bumper less than 1 foot away, wondering what happened. Policeman who witnessed it all reportedly needed sedation.
Now that is something worth watching!
