Does anyone know if the blades reverse to a lighter color? Any photos?

Cherry and walnut. I installed this exact fan three months ago in a small bedroom…looks and works great. I bought it on sale at Lowes for $85.00, so this is a great deal. Warning…it takes 5 minutes just to open all of the packages inside the box. Set aside at least 30 minutes to install if you know what you’re doing…I don’t think a master electrician could do it in 5.
I have installed ceiling fans in four bedrooms, the kitchen and in the family room. I can tell you that they do wonders in reducing your heating cost during the winter and your a/c costs in the summer months. We use the fans 12 months a year.
Oh yes, if anyone tells you that a ceiling fan can be properly mounted in 5 minutes, that person is not telling you the whole truth!

Highly recommend installing with a remote control unit. It really makes it much more convenient (esp for high ceilings).
That would be a marketing ploy designed to get people to buy the product. See my post above on actual installation concerns. 45 minute fans are better than 5 minute fans by any reasonable homeowners perspective imho. The time doesn’t matter, not having the fan rip out / damage your ceiling / fall on your football party does.
also, I believe this fan does not reverse, which makes winter/summer use not as good. I have a hunter that doesn’t reverse, only going clock-wise, which is not good for summertime.
I almost bought 2 of these, until I saw ‘candelabra bulb’. That ruins the economics of the deal. Is it a regular bulb base that could use a 60w or less regular bulb, or is it actually the small candelabra diameter base?
I suppose my other option might be to change out the light kit or opt for no light. Again, that makes it less of a deal.
I have this exact fan directly above me right now, bought at Lowe’s on sale for $59. They call it the Ridgefield (item #: 181903 Model #: 51029). The “5 minute fan” designates the time it takes to install the blades. No screws, so they just pop on to the mounting. The rest of the installation takes a normal amount of time. So estimate 45 minutes to an hour and a half depending on your skill level and how careful you are. It is very quiet, so far, and keeps the air circulated in this small 10x11 office. (3 speed fan, on/off lights, two pull chains) (It can be flush mounted, comes with appropriate hardware, and a replacement plate if you chose not to use the light kit.)
I have two of these exact fans in the “new bronze” (aka old rubbed bronze or black) finish.
I must say I’m very happy with them. They call them a five minute fan, but that refers to assembly time - not installation time. I’d say if you already have the proper wiring in place and an electrical box rated for ceiling fan usage, then these probably won’t take you more than 15 minutes to install.
They also use a nice bracket that you can ‘hang’ the fan from while installing. That makes the wiring process painless and when you are standing on a ladder that is a very nice feature.
Overall I’m very happy with the units. The glass is frosted, but not dark so it allows a lot of light through. The bulbs were included and I’ve yet to burn one out even after a year of usage on each fan. The fan was stable out of the box so there is no vibration or out-of-balance issues, they are very quiet, and honestly I’ve had zero issues.
One of the units I installed is in a vaulted foyer where it runs 24/7/365. The only time I shut it off is when I’m cleaning it or when I switch from summer mode (blowing downward) to winter mode (blowing upwards). The other is in the master bedroom where I use the fan in excess of 300 days a year.
If I have any complaint at all it is that the fans are too quiet… in the bedroom I actually prefer a little white noise, but these fans are whisper quiet so you can’t actually hear them.
What more can I say - they are quality fans and Hunter has a good reputation. I’d buy them again if I needed more fans.
