Kindle Paperwhite (11th Gen, 2021 Release)

Pulled the trigger.
Kinda scared of the scratch and dent option though.

Received the items today.
Although it didn’t mention it, it’s actually the kindle paperwhite signature 11th edition since I got the 32gb.
There are indeed quite a few scratches on the screen however, nothing too drastic (like deep gashes). Honestly you don’t really notice it that much once the screen is on.
No dents but on the back of the e-reader you can see/tell it was used.
However, for $60, a 32gb kindle is not bad. Much better than $200. I know the newer one is supposed to be faster but unless it’s side by side I don’t think it is that noticeable.
Don’t know if there are any other problems that will pop-up but appearance wise it’s not too bad.

Crossing my fingers I get lucky with the S&D it! This will be my first Kindle paper, and I couldn’t pass up this deal!

Received mine today. Despite being the scratch and dent option, I haven’t seen or noticed anything on mine. This device is really slow, though. I try to flip pages and it lags several seconds. It also does a weird flash whenever I touch the screen. I don’t know if that is how Kindles are or if it is the device itself, though. Hopefully it is not defective, but I do also wish it was faster.

That’s just how kindles are, at least with my experience. I’ve previously used only the Kindle app so comparing the e-reader to the app, it was/is an adjustment to me because it’s not as fast as my phone. Like you said, it lags and the pages flash when the pages turn but I’ve learned it’s just how it is. I previously had the Kindle Paperwhite the 12th edition (new from amazon) before returning it and it still did the same thing.

How much “scratch & dent” is allowed for the Grade C?? Will all be truly s&d? Is it like a roll of the dice where everyone wil get different quality of item?

Hi there. Click here for our guide to the various conditions and their definitions.

Got mine today - excellent condition 32 GB signature edition packed in a plain brown box with charging cable. Paired with a prior leather kindle case purchase from a few months ago, very happy with my “S&D” gamble. $60 and change out the door plus whatever I paid for the leather cover months ago, $4.49.

For a data point, I got mine a few days ago and there’s just a tiny scratch on the screen side (not the screen but the lower bezel), along with a couple tiny scuffs on the back. I also seem to have gotten lucky and didn’t get ads (but it’s not the Signature, so who knows why!). I got mine for $19 all-in ($30 scavenger coupon and they were $48 that day), so I’m tremendously happy, but YMMV.

At the same time, remember that Amazon offers trade ins and a 20% credit if you have an old kindle, so sometimes it’s worth it to take the plunge for the new one. Depends how willing you are to spend $40-50 more for not rolling the dice.
