Just received my TV and it seems broken in more ways than one. Bright vertical white line down the entire panel and the TV won’t stay on more than 15 seconds before it turns itself off. Issues would be apparent from even the most basic testing, so I basically feel like I was scammed. Have tried a factory reset and holding the power button for 30 seconds with it unplugged, followed by an hour unplugged. No change. TV will not stay on for more than 15-30 seconds before turning off
Have submitted a request for Woot support but am very disappointed.
Yeah I got fooled into buying this TV, the first one I got was defective the replacement they sent was also defective, they offered me a partial refund to keep it, just to much of a hassle to keep returning big TV and packing them and waiting for them to pick it up, so I just ended up keeping the TV and was going to use the partial refund to fix it, well the partial refund did not cover to fix it, so I have a half working TV. Wont ever be buying a TV from woot.
Hi there. I don’t see this purchase on the account you’re posting from. Have you reached back out to Woot Customer Service to let them know that you were unable to get it fixed for the amount offered? They may have other options.
Woot support was helpful and offered me 300 dollars to get it repaired locally, a replacement, or a full refund. I was not at all confident in pursuing a local repair or taking another chance on a replacement given the issues with the first, so I took the full refund to wash my hands of the whole ordeal. Woot agreed to pay for return shipping including a pickup from my home. So at the end of the day I was made whole financially, but storing a nonworking TV for 2 weeks throughout the support communications, repacking and returning such a large TV was painful and took 3+ weeks when all was said and done and quite a bit of nudging from me to keep it moving forward.
I am happy with this support resolution and especially that I was not on the hook for return shipping despite the terms of Woot warranties suggesting I would be, but I can’t get past the feeling that if the product was inspected/refurbished with even a modicum of care that these multiple immediately obvious issues would have been caught.
I was so turned off by the experience and my faith in woot refurbishment so degraded that I decided to pay quite a bit more to buy a comparable TV from a big box store to mitigate the risk of a repeat experience. Unfortunately this will be the last TV (and probably large item in general) that I try to buy from woot.
Thanks for the feedback. Sorry it didn’t go well. Shipping is rough on those TVs. They’re so thin that they’re easily damaged.
