I’m confused.
This is a 22 ft ladder with a maximum extension of 19 ft?
Please explain?
This is common for ladders, I guess the expectation being that you could reach an additional 3 ft past the max. Realistically I wouldn’t feel comfortable using it fully extended without a good angle and if it was against the side of my house I probably wouldn’t go above 20 ft, but there are probably scenarios where 22 ft could work.
I got one of these without wheels a month ago. Originally I bought one that was 13 or 14 ft fully extended, but I had to get to a lintel that’s about 12 ft up and couldn’t get there without resting on the damaged part (or window below). I exchanged for the 22ft and was able to use the a frame to do everything I needed, while still being able to fit the thing in my Prius.
It’s standard OSHA requirements for ladders . For reasons I cannot explain, OSHA requires that the length of extension ladders is specified as the total of each part, with no subtraction of the overlap. In this document (link below), the example they use is that a 24-foot extension ladder will consist of two 12-foot section, but they need to overlap by at least 3 feet, giving a maximum extension of 21 feet.
Is there a difference between this m22 and the m22 at Lowe’s for$179.00?
You don’t need a truck to bring this one home. Woot will have it sent to your front door for $6 or with prime you get free shipping.
Doesn’t look like it has wheels.

Pretty sure you don’t need a truck. It’s 5 foot 7 when folded up. Will easily fit in most cars with the back seat folded down. Source: me an my 96 Toyota Corolla.
This is what a helpful response looks like.
That’s nice, but not everyone who needs a ladder owns a vehicle. Having things delivered is a valuable option for a lot of people.
Perhaps I could have said “vehicle” instead of “truck” but the principle idea was there are people who value delivery.
Yeah, pretty sure that’s not the kind of input the person you were responding to was looking for. People know that Woot delivers and they would have to drive to Lowes. Chancy was looking for a difference in the product itself.
Besides, this is almost the exact same comment you make whenever anyone brings up a product from another seller.
