If you go to the UPS site and enter the tracking number, there is a link to “View package progress”. On that page, I have the following two items currently:
SUNNYVALE, CA, US 06/14/2006 11:16 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
06/14/2006 8:15 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN
In the past that fills in as they are transferred from truck to truck or delivered, just like Fed Ex.
Got mine yesterday, one in a plastic package and one in plastic bag. lol
edit:
Box says it shipped from TX but the tracking says it shipped from Cali?
At the time, I did in fact click on it but got an error message, I assumed it was from server maintenance or something…
Same deal for me. Just found a UPS (not FedEx) tracking number for mine. Due on 6/21.
i got one in a bag and one sealed in the plastic packaging. does this mean that that one is new in box?
One good controller, One bad controller ![]()
ditto! one is brand new but the other looks like it was taken from the hands of a gamer mid-play!
it has crumbs or something grimy caked into the crevaces and buttons ![]()
…disappointed, but still a good deal even for only one at $20… cant complain
I just got mine too. Both of mine came in plastic baggies, no manual or instructions. Both of my controllers have minor scratches and dings, but one has got crumbs and crud in it also. The other one looks like it’s in decent shape.
Sheesh! I guess woot’s idea of ‘Refurbished’ means a quick wipe with a dirty rag.
But $19 is a decent price and these are not for me but as a gift for a friend. But I’ll definitely think twice about buying whenever I see Woot selling something refurbed.
Just retrieved mine from the front desk in my building. One new one in death-plastic and one refurb with very minor surface scaring. Not bad for the only thing I bought the entire Woot-Off.
Now for some more Katamari…

“(rox0rz!)”…I would never say that…wtf, WootForums, wtf.
Got mine yesterday. However, one of them is broken. It appears that one of the dual shock sticks sticks to the left a bit. Can I return it? What are my options???
Um, my order contained one PS2 controller and one XBox controller - problem is I don’t own an XBox. If someone sees this post, please contact me (russell AT opensight DOT net). I will also email support. Thanks!

Mine doesn’t seem to have pressure sensitve buttons. Anyone notice this?
Mine showed up Wednesday… One in a baggie, and one brand new. The refurbished one looks new, except for the serial number being crossed off with blue marker (which wore off afte 10 minutes of gaming). They came from a different place than other woots I’ve bought… Plus it’s the first Woot I’ve had come UPS…
They both work fine, but I was seriously disappointed that they are essentially PS1 controllers. They even have a “PS” logo on the package instead of the PS2 logo. No pressure sensitive buttons. ![]()
They’ll still be good for playing RPGs, but they are unsuitable for 90% of the PS2 games out there.
Like others, I received one controller in great condition and the other is broken and will not work. The warranty on the item blog states 90 days. Does anyone know if that 90 day warranty is supported by Logitech or Woot? Or had any luck with getting a replacement on their broke controller? Advice will be helpful…thanks.
This was the weekend to check my 38 woot-off buys. PS2 controllers were on the list. First: no instructions so that is a problem to most, but I never read the instructions anyway, so I didn’t notice at first.
Second: you have to install both wireless plugs into the PS2 unit before you turn it on, then since you have already installed the two AA batteries in each controller (hint) you push one button on each sender then push a button on ONE controller. The light on the sender goes out, the light on the receiver stays lit (and no longer blinks). Then you do the same for the second controller.
Third: Never seen this but the vibration mode button acually has like three settings (maybe more?) Off - slight-alot…
I own 40+ PS2 games, and 3 PS2’s (never play any of them, kids don’t seem to care about them, so as usual, I place myself into the complusive spenders of useless stuff category). Both controllers worked on all 40 games including RPG’s and the one I had to try was Tourismo4 (just bought from Amazon for $10 incl SH). All features worked perfectly and no issues. Even broke out the PS1 and no issues (I have an adapter).
I have other wireless controllers from woot but these are better. Wish now that I had bought three sets.
Neither one of mine work… one bad button on each.
I don’t care about the being in a bag without instructions. It’s a refurb so I really don’t care.
BUT, not working is crap. I was excited to get these… they feel like nice controllers. But I have a ‘stuck’ button on each one.
Is woot going to refund us on these? WOOT - where did you get these damn things?
I really don’t want to go the trouble of baging this crap up… if I operate I might be able to get a good one out of the pair?
I took a closer look at my controllers now too. These may be first gen PS2 controllers or something, they aren’t even listed on Logitech’s website.
The box that mine came in have a label that has a product number:
P/N 963320-0914
Both of my controllers have a product number of:
P/N 863239-0000
Well this really settles it for me, I’m never buying anything refurbished from Woot again.
My controllers are both P/N 863239-0000, they work fine on my PS2, no issues with any games so far. In addition they appear to be new!
Get over it, you are not paying retail or anything close but you expect cutting edge technology, If you want that then get out your wallet and fork over a bunch more cash!
Great, the more people who decide to never buy again leaves more for the rest of us.
That’s not my point. I knew these were refurbished. With the businesses I’ve dealt with, refurbished means tested and cleaned to decent conditions. Like another Wooter, one of my controllers looks like it was grabbed forcibly from a snacking ten year old in the middle of his game!
You got new ones. Good for you.
Re-read some of the prior threads, Some of us weren’t so lucky in this PS2 controller lottery. No I wasn’t expecting shiny, new fifth generation PS2 controllers, but I have certain expectations when I see the term refurbished. Woot does not appear to share the same definition.
