I purchased this version once. It worked great to download it once. Then I had an issue with the computer and had to use a recovery disk to repair the computer. The code would not work again even though it was the same computer, so I ended up having to buy a second version a few months later.
I’ve had to call Microsoft before for a similar issue. Very courteous and helped out. They kind of assume you’re not trying to cheat.
Aside from that, if you work in an office, many times the company will offer you an employee deal on Office. Over the years I purchased each new version of Office Professional for $15. The last time was eight years ago so it may not be offered anymore. But the last version I got still works just fine for everything I need.
This is what the Microsoft support website states.
"You can install a one-time purchase of Office such as Office Home & Business, Office Home & Student, or Office Professional Office on only 1 PC or Mac. However, you may transfer Office 2021, 2019, or 2016 to another computer that belongs to you, but not more than one time every 90 days (except due to hardware failure, in which case you may transfer sooner).
Any time you transfer the software to a new computer, you must remove the software from the prior computer and you may not retain any copies. "
