I purchased this bicycle from Woot a few days ago and I thought I’d make a small review.
The assembly instructions are incomplete. The instructions only show the rear of the bicycle, I had to refer to other sources to figure out the front end of it. The bicycle comes mostly assembled and mostly correct, the fork and head tube were backwards but loose. The handlebar was the most difficult piece to install. The stem and handlebars connect with a small two piece clamp with four screws. A third hand would have been handy to keep handlebar in place while tightening.
There were missing washers and wrong sized washers, I had some that replaced these.
The manual is for generic mountain bicycles.
The bicycle gears were ok out of the box, I did do some fine tuning, plenty of videos can be found on how. The disc brakes are grippy. The fenders are not great, they will require some work to align better with the wheels/tires. The tires seem to be ok.
Time to finish assembly was probably closer to two hours due to searching for replacement washers and how the front end should look(there are no images of the bicycle anywhere in or on the box.
Tuning was probably about an hour(watching videos and test riding).
Overall, I’m feeling good about the bicycle. First long ride will happen in two days.
I can answer questions.
I’ll try to remember to add thoughts after the first longer ride.
I bike to work, 8 miles through mostly suburban areas with some busy highway crossing and mixed use paved trails. This bicycle did well on it’s first trip.
Now I’m coming from a steel frame junk bicycle with addon rear rack. So the Envoy feels like a dream for me. The two are probably about the same weight only more bicycle now for the weight.
I’m very happy with this bicycle for the cost. I will look into possible component upgrades but I don’t have problems with the stock bicycle.
