Is this really 64 and not 128GB?
[MOD: Confirmed it’s 64GB. There was an exclusive model made that wasn’t sold thru regular retail channels.]
Yikes good catch with that…!
Personal note: I have had the 128gb Moto One for about a year now, personally I really dislike the phone. Despite the RAM it’s got some major lag, and also I’ve had a variety of Bluetooth challenges (constantly disconnecting).
Granted, could be a lemon but I’m keeping an eye out for a different affordable 5g to replace, as more 5g phones enter the market.
(Will post this in both sales today)
Motorola budget phones are, by and large, fanastic.
PROS
- Almost stock Android, plus some actual improvements (twist-twist for camera, chop-chop for flashlight, etc.)
- Geat cameras for a budget phone, and good speakers
- Great battery life
CONS
- Usually get only one OS update
- Vibration is hit-and-miss (Moto G Power 2022 vibrates weakly, Moto G Power 2020 has a great motor)
- Screen brightness is less than stellar
- Fingerprint readers works great for a couple weeks, then works OK for another month, then you have to retrain it (use the same finger 2-3 times to lessen the problem)
This is all from using with the lower-priced models. Cons may be reduced with pricier models.
I have this phone, and while not absolute perfection, it’s pretty damned solid.
Having switched from a Note 9, in favor of 5G, I found this to be similar in speed, functionality (though clearly not that of a stylus-endowed Note), and size.
It’s also ip52 water resistant (though I’ve never really tested it), has an all-day battery, and USB C.
Two cons; it’s heavy. Like, hand-crampingly so. And after a year of use and filling up with data, it’s become occasionally laggy. Neither is very bad. Absolutely not sufficient to warrant switching. And really, if you’re so inclined, a fresh wipe would cure the latter.
Certainly not top o’ the line, world class. But a really good phone, that’s more than worth the price here. It was a bargain for the $300 I paid Motorola for it, over a year ago. It’s a steal now.
Like another commenter here I have had this for just over a year (the 128gb version). For the price you can’t really beat it. Mine is on Android 11 now. When I have 5G coverage it is quite fast and responsive. I just can’t bring myself to spend nearly or over a thousand $ on a phone and then replace it every couple of years-that’s nuts in my opinion.
This is pretty durable and there’s a nice Otterbox belt clip case available for it. Mine’s been dropped and survived with no issues. As the previous commenter mentioned it is big and heavy, practically a tablet size compared to the iphone SE 3rd gen I have for work.
This also lets you add a micro sd card and has a headphone jack (I think this is the last Moto to have that from what I’ve read). Battery life is great, typically a couple of days for me-at 3 days it’s at about 20-25% charge remaining.
So get a decent phone at a decent price and buy a laptop with the difference. Those flagship phones aren’t worth it, and you won’t feel bad replacing it in 2 years.
Are people really carrying around a 6.7" screen? When will this madness end?
Yes, I have this phone and although I like it, it’s too big. I want to put it in my pocket! I got my kids newer models and those are even larger! It’s a good thing they’re sturdy because they are constantly falling out of pockets.
I do have to admit… the big screen DOES make it easy to see and type stuff (saying this makes me feel like an old person, but it’s true!). I do recommend the phone in general. I swapped from iPhone and maybe the camera isn’t quite as good - adequate though - but the price and battery life are a million times better!
