I have not had a morel mushroom in over a decade. I haven’t hunted or had access to a friend who did. I refuse to pay. Boy, I can still remember and desire batch fried up.
Whoever is in charge of creating new forum links for all of today’s deals must be sampling mushrooms right about now. They’re all missing.

When I was a child I hated mushrooms and would pick them out of casseroles or soup. Sometime during my teenage years I learned to like them. Now I love them. I think my dislike stemmed more from texture than flavor.

Nah, I have no idea how you came up with the idea that the makers enjoying mushrooms.
I have a story about me and a bunch of friends in high school out in a cow pasture, dodging cows, crawling around on hands and knees looking for tiny ones to be made in to a steaming hot beverage. And then seeing a big pink and purple tennis shoe chasing us down the street after consuming said steaming, hot beverage…

My favorite mushroom dish: get a very large portobella mushroom, like the size of a coffee can lid. Scrape out the back stuff. Brush the outside with olive oil and pour some balsamic vinegar on the inside. Bake for 7-8 minutes @ 350. Take out and put a very generous amount of smoked gouda cheese that covers the inside of the mushroom. Bake for another 90 seconds. Take out and put tomato slices covering the cheese. Sprinkle with more balsamic vinegar. Shake on some garlic powder and some black pepper. Nice!
