Does it have a hidey slot for the remote? 'Cuz that thing is going to get lost.
Any details on the dimensions?
- Glovebox (if not filled with gloves)
- Sunglasses Bin (if not filled with mints)
- Map Pocket (if not filled with shoes)
- In The Visor (if not filled with pennies)
- …And More! (if not filled with less)
Alternatively you can get ahead of accidental loss by taking advantage of your destiny: drop it in the hole before installing the head unit so you’ll always know where it is.
Don’t see how.
Hi there. It’s a double-din. From Amazon:
5 x 7.5 x 4 inches
7" Extra-large touchscreen LCD, Short Chassis with Sleeve and Trim " 7 inch screen is the same size as all other 7" screens so what makes it “extra large”. Plenty of 9 and 10" screens available on Amazon and frequently for this same price.
How would I know if this fits my car? It’s a 2011 Nissan Rogue. I see “steering control” cable, I use my steering wheel controls a lot, would like to confirm if it’s compatible with my car
Go to Crutchfield and look up the model number and they will have the info if anyone does.
I’ve purchased those units before. The mounting is larger than a standard double DIN, so additional modifications are necessary.
(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
I guess the good thing about this…nobody will bother to steal it
Not always. I have a 10" Boss unit in my Crown Vic that is, believe it or not, single-DIN. The screen snaps onto the front of the DIN housing and is adjustable in most angles. It’s a nifty way to get a 10" screen in a car that would normally fit a double-DIN only with some bezel cutting.
This is the one I have, though I paid significantly less for it as a refurb:
$274.00 on the mothership right now. Thanks for the info I like that set up. It seems very convenient.
It’s been a good one, the only issue I have with it is the reverse camera resolution is horrible. It’s composite input (think 1980s/1990s VCR quality) instead of a digital signal, which is unfortunately par for the course with most aftermarket radios. On smaller screens it’s not as bad, but blown up to 10 inches it’s like looking at a moving impressionist painting with parking guides drawn in crayon.
I bought my wife a new 2023 accord exl… What you describe is the backup cam included with her brand new car… Literal iPhone 1 selphy quality.
I just tried to install this and I’ve installed car radios for the last 20+ years. The lights on the buttons light up and it look like the screen is barely on and I see a few ghost lines that move up or down with my finger. I’m thinking I received a dud.
indeed. Sorry.
