Neato BotVac D80 or D85 Robot Vacuums

I think these would be more likely to qualify as “off brand”.

Neato is a well known brand of robotic vacuum cleaners. I have a bunch of them. The listings are confusing because they seem to say they have lithium and NiMh batteries. They can only have one type. Based on weight, the wifi version is lithium and is a far better deal. Assuming it is the old Botvac Connected that came with lithium batteries and not some older model I’ve never heard of it is the one to buy. I don’t think there is a D85 connected. I think it is just a Botvac Connected.

Can you please check the “D85 (with WiFi)” model? Where does it say anything about WiFi?
I’m not sure such thing exists. D85 is almost same as D80 (diff brush maybe).
And Neato Botvac Connected is a pretty different series.

I found a few references in the description and specs page.
Also googled the differences, and there it was! A page discussing the variations.

The Neato design is much more efficient than all the other vacuums. That flat front cleans right up to the wall and into the corners, because the pickup brush is full-width and in the very front. The Neato also cleans in a recognized pattern, not a random patternless path. I’ve had one for ages, and this is a great chance to get another one.

My xv-11 has been going strong for 10+ years. I’ve had to buy new batteries, but that’s it. It sometimes gets lost, but let’s me know and is easy to find. Not bad for a first generation robotic vacuum. My mom and sister have purchased several neatos since seeing mine. It may not be as well known as Roomba, but it is much more efficient.

These are excellent vacuums. I had two XV21s and currently have a D3 and a D8. These are first and foremost a vacuum. Pleasantly, they have excellent robotic brains, as well. These older models I feel do a better job than the current D8-10 models. The build quality is excellent and the consumables are available off-brand for very little moola.

I think I’ve had them all and the Neato is by far the best.

You’re lucky. I bought a refurb here which died after 6 months or so with the error about the scanner not working. I bought a newer version new at Target and that maybe made it a year before the same thing happened. I gave up on them after that. A $300 vacuum should last longer than a year.

At $90, though, they are a good deal even if they only last a year. I loved the design and the “intelligent” vacuuming pattern.

Maybe they changed the listing since you posted, but the drop-down list to select the model shows WiFi next to the D85, the specs page says WiFi, and the photo showing both vacuums shows what appears to be a smartphone next to the D85. I presume they’re not using a USB cable to attach the phone.

Although they should not break so soon, most things are easily fixed if you are handy. I’ve replaced the ribbon cable, Lidar belt, Lidar motor, brush gear and side brush O ring. I have 11 of them that run 5 days a week so after 3 or 4 years of use, several have required repairs. The ribbon cable is the most difficult item to replace. There are Youtube videos on repairs and parts are available from ebay and Amazon.

I had a D85. It had no Wifi. As far as I know, the very first wifi version was simply called Neato Connected. I have a couple of those. But I’ve compared the model label in the photo with my Neato Connected and it is different and so is the recommend battery part number on the label. Perhaps they made a D85 Wifi for another country but I cannot find a listing for one on line. One disadvantage of Neato Connected is the firmware updates had to be done by USB port instead of Wifi. One nice thing about the Neato Connected is that it had a nice LCD screen.

Is somebody also interested in buying Neato for the owner’s home plans ?

Received the D85 version today. Missing all components listed except for the robot, charging base, and filter.

Hi there. Sorry about the missing stuff on the D85. Go ahead and reach out to Woot! Customer Service. I’m reaching out to our home team as well.

To speed things up, let them know if you prefer a return/refund or a replacement (if possible).

From a browser, use the Woot! Customer Service form.

In the Woot! App, choose Account from the bottom navigation and then Support.

Note: Woot! Customer Service replies go to the email address on your Woot! account, not your Amazon login email if used/different.

Received mine yesterday and have the same components you listed. All others missing.

We’ve been bamboozled!

Jokes aside, I sent support an email, I’ll report back the results. I expect the only real outcome is to send it back for refund, which is a bummer.
