(NEW) Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal Wireless ANC Headphones

I got a pair of these last time they were on woot. Brand new, very comfortable and look nice. I’ve had noise canceling headphones from Bose and beats most recently and these feel less plastic. The sound is great, noise canceling I’m still adjusting to my preferences. It also comes with an adapter to connect direct to ps5, though I’ve only used with my phone.

It took a while to get the software updates installed with a couple of attempts, but pairing has been perfect every time since.

My only negative comment is they don’t come with hard case, so they can’t live in my backpack… that’s my own fault for assuming a $499 headphones would since every other expensive pair I’ve owned came with a custom case.

How would you say the sound quality is with regard to music? The fact that they’re built for gaming made me hold off. I already have a couple sets of great headphones, wondering if i really need to add these to my collection…

Music quality on these is overall excellent. They are a bit light in the bass department but very well balanced for all music genres. They are one of the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever used. If you are looking for music use only though get the B&O H95. The draw of the Portal is that they are a jack of all trades that do everything (gaming, zoom, phone headset, music) quite good, but for exclusive music use definitely save up for the H95 because that one truly sounds special for music - the Portal does gaming, zoom, and phone headset better than the H95 tho

For pure music comparisons I’d say they’re on par with other ANC headphones $300-$400. I agree with the previous post, If you’re comparing with other B&O models, those are a notch above if you’re looking for the audiophile experience rather than the generalist music/phone/games/noise canceling all day use applications.
