With the normal price of this phone, there’s zero reason it should have less than 512 GB of storage, if not 1 TB. Storage is cheap now. 128 GB is Apple-level insultingly low, especially with how the size of image files from high-res cameras.
128 GB is a total deal-breaker on this phone, sadly.
With cloud storage, there’s no need for on-device storage unless you have some sort of niche-use that very, very few people would qualify for. We travel all over the world with our 128GB phones, taking thousands upon thousands of photos and videos, and we’ve never run out of storage nor gotten any storage warnings.
Where do you see that? Is that with a trade in? Not showing that price when I check now.
Yeah, it’s trade in prices.
Fun fact: Google offers $540 for Pixel 7 Pros, which can be bought for around $250 on eBay, so you’d end up saving the $100. And if you sign up for the correct Google One plan, and there’s an offer, you can get 10% towards a future purchase, and it would only cost $2.49/month.
Source: I made this occasionally.
Ive got the 128 gig storage with barely 60 gigs filled. With cloud i have very few pics etc stored on the drive. Its more than enough for me
Better deals coming soon. Black Friday
I just used your method plus the $150 discount I get from Google to get a Pixel 9 256GB for $530. Thanks!
Yeah, Google this week is in their generous trade-in mode ($360 for my 2yr old Pixel 7) plus $150 discount. Also saw something about them beginning a certified refurbished Pixel program, so they need some inventory for that. I’m considering trading my 7 for a 9 (non-Pro). As for storage, after ten years of transferring stuff and adding new apps through multiple Android phones, I’m still at only 40% usage of 128. Might consider 256 on the chance that whatever new AI features and engines become useful might create a need for more memory or bigger apps.
You have to pay for cloud storage and then you’re married to the storage vendor.
Plus if you use your phone for your music collection, you’d have to use your data to listen to music when travelling.
My phone has 512GB, so anything less is a deal breaker.
Man I was hoping for 256. 128GB is way too small
Who pays for cellular data anymore? Get a better phone plan. I have plenty of cloud storage that I use for several purposes like backing up my desktop, my families phones, etc. It’s there to use, so it isn’t an issue. My music collection is over 3TB, it is stored for free on YouTube Music. I can still store about 50GB of music on my phone, and still have never run out of storage space or even come close to doing so. Last time I checked, there’s no phone with 3TB of storage available, so if that was my criteria, I’d be sorely lacking in choice.
If you buy cloud storage you dont know what you are doing. You suddenly get married to your storage provider. Free storage? One day Youtube music decides to shut you down. Poof No more music. Good luck with that. I use external drives so I am in command with my life.
