It’s cheaper by $50 on Lenovos website!
[MOD: Not seeing it? Make sure you compare memory & storage too.]

WOOTERS!!?? What are your thoughts? Please chime in with real critique…sillyasaurus memes and unnecessary quips not required.
Decent deal. Will need to upgrade RAM though. Would be nice if Woot put up if the RAM is DDR4 or 5, and if they are slots or soldered. Battery capacity info would be good too.
Edit:
From Lenovo website: DDR5, SODIMM. Battery is 60 Whr.
He is referring to the one with 3050 and not 4050.
Is KB backlit?
Quick research: keyboard is backlit, color, multiple zone, RAM is expandable to 32 Gb (2 slots), SSD is also upgradeable.
Correction: 4050 is 6gB DDR6, not 8.
Specs say Windows 10 Pro, Description says Windows 11. What is the OS that comes with this (and if it’s 10 is this upgradable to 11)??

Hi there. These are being pulled from Amazon inventory so we don’t have a lot of information. Here it is on Amazon:

I don’t see it called out there.
8 GB of RAM, in a gaming computer? The bare minimum for ANY Windows laptop, these days, should be 16. Honestly 32 should be the standard at this point.
I purchased this laptop on a previous sale a couple weeks ago. It is very easy to upgrade the memory to at least 32GB and maybe 64GB. Details on memory specs and benchmarks are available on the previous thread - NEW Lenovo 15.6" FHD Gaming Laptop
An i5?.. bruh
Whats the socket on this board? Maybe you could buy a decent cpu with the savings? Ram is obviously a must and easybtondo as people are referencing already
Most sockets for laptops now are BGA, or soldered CPUs to the main board. The CPU is fine, I’d want to go for memory and storage as needed. With a 3050 this isn’t going to be a powerhouse to begin with, but this will get you in the door.
Does this support Lenovo’s AI Now? 'AI PCs' are everywhere at CES. What does it really mean for you? | PCWorld
I have a crappy Lenovo i3 that struggles to do a lot of things including painfully long boot time, horrible at web, and God forbid opening excel. Would a gaming laptop suffice for non gaming things? Or is there a better way to go about general home interwebs stuff and some software?
The one in the eBay listing shows it’s an RTX2050.
The Woot! indicates an RTX 4050. I’d rather have the 4050 and buy extra Ram.
If it still has a hard drive, that’s where the biggest issue is. For your use cases, a gaming laptop is NOT necessary whatsoever.
If you want to message me the specs of your current machine, I can offer some suggestions.
(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
Sure, gaming laptops will work fine for Office and browsing, though the video card is likely overkill. This model is seriously lacking on memory though.
That said, the issues with your older laptop might be addressed with a couple, fairly inexpensive component upgrades. Assuming your processor is newer gen and isn’t your bottleneck, an SSD and more memory would likely make things considerably faster.
A lot of laptops make it rather easy to upgrade those components, where it’s just a few screws and it’s done. But other laptops require wedging a tool in to break the seal, which is more troublesome.
If there are two hard drive bays, then great you can just install the second one and clone your original drive to the SSD with free software. Then when done, swap the bays for the old hard drive and new SSD bays so it’ll boot off the SSD. If no second bay, then an inexpensive USB adapter (or a desktop computer) could be used instead.
Sounds like a lot of work, but it took me less than 10 minutes to swap out the components when I upgraded mine. I cloned the hard drive ahead of time with an adapter, so it was good to go once plugged in. Of course, your mileage may vary if your case is a pain to get open.
