There aren’t any surround channels, and if you want discrete rear speakers, you’ll need to buy them from the manufacturer separately.There’s also Dolby Atmos support, and it can playback surround sound formats like Dolby Digital and DTS, though it has to downmix it into stereo to play it.
If you buy this, then the rear speakers separately, you still come out about $60 cheaper than combo listed on walmart. (499) It’s tough to find anything with upfiring speakers this cheap. Much less with the wattage this one boasts. I have an old Samsung that I’d like to upgrade. Its just a 2.1.
