(NEW) Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G - 4/128GB (2023) (Unlocked)

Meh, only 4 GB of RAM which is basically the minimum allowed for Android.

I had the 2023, it was a little under-powered. I switched to a pixel 6a because it was “free” through my carrier. and was never happy with it. I just got the Stylus 2025. I like Motorola phones.

That’s odd since the Pixel 6a has an Antutu Benchmark of 827,000 while the Stylus 2025 is 647,258. Possibly though the Pixel 6a was overheating. An issue that plagued the 6 and 7 series. The good though is that Pixels have minimal bloatware.

Newer Stylus models use a newer but weaker processor.

Can anyone tell me more about the quality of the photos with this phone?

I had a Moto Stylus from 2021, juat as a toy kind of thing, and was super UNDER-whelmed by the quality of the photos its produced-regardless of w/e crap sales talk they and the other brand of phones like to sell you on regarding megapixels. “Show me, and theeenn I’ll believe it”.

Well, y’all, I saw it and I couldn’t believe how grainy and crappy the pics came out. Of simple stuff too.

Anyway, anyone in the know care to share their experience/s with this phone its recent predecessor…?

Thanks much!!

P.S. Happy Humpday! Woot! Woot!

Compared to a Pixel even 3a that does image post processing in under 1 sec the Motorola Stylus is weak.
Even a 3a was shocking in output and impressed my child who had an Apple 11 pro (since updated to a 16).

This is what a Pixel 3a can do

Thank you too. If you still have a Stylus 2021, go into camera app and click on gear wheel. Go into settings of still photos and play around with Smart composition (I had mine off) and Shot Optimization (mine was off).

The defaults may be causing your disappointment with its photos. Let me know if it helps. Who knows, it may yet prove to be a great phone. I used my Stylus as a phablet (small tablet). For $70 from Woot it was one of the better deals. But it is locked to Trac Phone and why I use my Pixel still as a phone and camera.

These photos were taken a few days ago with my Moto G Stylus 2024. The Moto does a great job. It’s not a DSLR, but - if you use a good app and understand lighting - it takes excellent shots. The average person is never going to notice the difference between this and any other phone camera. The only material drawback I’ve found is that it does poor in low lighting, but most phones do poor in low lighting. Unless you’re a professional photographer or videographer, planning to print and enlarge the photos, or have special use scenarios, I can’t imagine a scenario where this isn’t an absolute steal at $99. It’s also a phone.

Does anyone know who the seller is? I want to buy from Amazon seller directly, not the 3rd party on Amazon. Thanks for your confirmation.

Nice photos. The second picture is a spotted Lanternfly. Supposed to admire then squash flat. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:f-flip: because it harms plants.

The 2024 Moto G Stylus has significantly better camera quality than the 2021 model due to the addition of Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a more capable 50MP main sensor with better low-light performance, and an improved 13MP ultrawide lens compared to the 2021’s 48MP main camera and 8MP ultrawide. Also better than 2023 version except 2023 version offers 4K video recording which the 2024 oddly did not.

If you want 4K video recording and the better optics @samuelnyc - you still should consider the 2023 model being sold. To me, 50MP and 48MP are really not that different.

Optical image stabilization in the 2024 does matter sometimes a lot unless you normally brace your phone with elbows on chest for much greater stability (not on a wobbling selfie stick).

I would like to jump on this phone also, the only thing which is giving me pause. Is that when I Google “end of support for Moto G Stylus 2023” I receive answer that says security updates end in April 2026, which is next year.

its more of a emergency phone to use temporarily or a back up if main one dies, I would not buy this to use as a main phone for years.

Stylus models are going away.
Possibly as early as next year.

will this phone work out side of usa like in europe and asia?

Best check with your provider.

Does anyone know if this supports eSIMs?

Thanks in advance!

According to Rufus:

I needed a backup phone to my flagship model.
Brand new, 2023, brand name 5g for just $100.
Yea, it only has 4gb ram, which is explains the price.
I got my phone within maybe 16 hours after ordering, even though I ordered standard delivery.
Not too bad!
