Got mine a couple of weeks ago. The surround sound is perceptible but not very obvious with music listening (Bluetooth from my phone) Havent tried with a movie yet (new tv on the shopping list.) But, the subwoofer fills the room with boom! I’d say twice as boomy as my old 2.1 ch 340watt samsung soundbar/woofer I replaced. Midrange is a little out of balance (level too low), but with some settings tuning, I can probably compensate. I’m thinking of adding the compatible Samsung surround speakers with upfiring channels soon. 10/10
I bought the q800c a week ago. I noticed it was really trying to make it sound like surround sound, and at times I heard things behind me. Today I received the 9500s rear speakers. I read reviews on Amazon saying people couldn’t hear them or they weren’t loud enough. Well I had that problem at first, then I started playing around with the sound settings. Adaptive sound is by far the best, however if you want to hear the rear speakers you have to change the setting to surround. Makes a huge difference. Listening to music you hear it all around you. People just don’t have the patience to try different things. I can get used to the surround setting if it means larger sound from my rear speakers.
