Onkyo 5.1CH 3D-Ready Home Theater System

I want just the receiver part of this.

Is this the one I just bought (and haven’t received yet!) on Feb 22nd for $499?

Woot Order #43805425

Sure is. Model: HT-S6500

Does anyone know if Woot has offered up a Box of Chickens yet?

OooH, Bad!
Somebody bought one and there still are %100 left… Be seeing this W00t stall for a while

Woot - since I haven’t received it yet, can I get it for this lower price?

I want a receiver but only if it has HDMI upconversion (i.e. i can have all my hdmi, and RCA sources plugged into the receiver and have the receiver plugged into the TV via 1 hdmi cable). Anyone able to confirm whether this one has that? It looks like probably not, but just want to check.

You should contact customer service and not the comment section on a temporary woot deal.

For those who haven’t heard of Onkyo: it’s a nice brand, available on the high-end sites like Crutchfield.

After doing tons of research I bought an Onkyo home theatre system (similar to this one) about 6 years ago. I’ve never regretted it. For new company I’ll get out the T2 disk and let people hear the Terminator THX demo - it sounds amazing.

People usually want to compare speakers to Bose, since it’s what they have heard of, but Bose is a company who puts a lot of money into Marketing/Hype, while companies like Onkyo quietly outperform.

If you did buy a Bose system, you’d pay more and get less awesome speakers.

I don’t have the speakers (as I already had my own) but I recently bought the receiver and woofer for my living room. Love 'em.

I bought this on Amazon a few months ago, highly recommend!

This model does not upconvert analog signals to HDMI. You will need to connect both the HDMI and analog outputs to your TV. You’ll be hard-ressed to find a quality receiver alone for this price that handles that type of conversion.

I’ve never been the last one to buy during a woot!off. I think I’m going to appreciate this system even more now.
