my girlfriend wants a camera that will take good pictures, and something that is cheap. I’m not a whiz about cameras. Is this a good deal for a camera that will take decent to great pictures?

My Canon uses AA batteries, and it’s not bad–I use rechargeables.

Agreed! each woot-off seems to get a little worse than the one before it.
At least there hasn’t been an insane number of printers like there was in the past…
