I have the first gen Google Wifi and was looking at maybe upgrading. Is the 6 pro worth the added cost now that they have the 6+?

It would probably depend on your coverage needs and how many walls you need to go through. I have plaster and who-knows-what-else which had always been the bane of my wireless existence; the 6 Pro powers right through with virtually no degradation of signal until getting to just outside the house. YMMV

Yeah, our biggest problem is getting wifi to the family room. Mesh worked great for that, but our system is about 6 years old now which is like 30 years old in wireless technology 
Wirecutter recommends the straight-up 6 as their best pick as of earlier this year. But then, when I went to the mothership, I saw they have the 6+ that slots between the 6 and the 6 pro.

FYI I happen to have one of the JBL Charge speakers and LO V E it. So much that I will eventually get a second one to cover both sides of the area I am playing music for

I decided to try it last night, and I think it is now my favorite of our Bluetooth speakers. I love that it can connect to others for party mode, but I cannot justify purchasing another speaker when I already have quite a few.
Anyway, good luck with the man-eating broccoli plant! Hopefully you can extend your wi-fi first so you can message for help before you are digested!

I have a JBL 4 and love it. Puts out a good dose of music sound and owned for a few years w/ no issues. Also have a smaller clip version (# forgotten at the moment) which I got new from a previous DDC mongering box.

I love those speakers. I have the Charge 4. Great sound.
As for the mesh, I actually dont have a need for it. Instead of the router I would need to buy I may just pull the trigger on another speaker and gift the mesh. Either way its a win!

Not to alarm you, but when I got one of my previous DDC boxes, I opened it outside, then brought it into the house after not seeing any obvious hazards, put everything on my kitchen table, and took pictures to post to the Post Mongering thread. A few days later (that weekend), I unfurled the black-out curtains that were in my DDC “prize” to wash them when several surprise spiders decided to make themselves known by scattering in different directions in my house. One did not survive after hiding under my spouse’s shoe but the other(s) escaped and I’m no longer able to sleep soundly at night because I know the Woot Warehouse spider-mama is watching and waiting.
Those curtains are now referred to as the “spider-curtains”.
