I would suggest holding out for the expandable set.
What’s the difference between this and the expandable set?
The expandable set (should have EXP in name) can add two extra sets, one up to 70lb and another up to 90lb.
I have the expandable set and I used to own the non-expandable set, there are advantages to each. If you are going to be frequently adjusting the weights in 5 lb increments and working under 50 lb per weight this would be a better choice.
The expandable set can be adjusted in 2.5 lb increments, but it requires removing internal weights, which while easy require you to remove all the other weights first. Each weight is also 10lbs (2x5lb plates welded together), so if you want to adjust the weight by only 5 lbs you would need to remove the plates, remove the internal components, and then go up or down to the next plate. With this set you would just have to move the pin to the next weight up or down.
It really comes down to what you want. My wife was happy with the 50lb x 2 non-expandable set but we sold it when we moved, I ended up replacing them with an expandable set which I prefer. I have yet to buy the expansions, but its nice to have the option when I am ready. If you are paying $200 for a set of Powerblocks, you’ll probably be able to sell them on FB marketplace in a few years for $200, they hold value pretty well.
