Wherever you’re getting that MSRP from, it’s way off. Even the manufacturer’s own website has the regular price at $125.
Could not agree more. Woot has a well deserved reputation for hyper inflating “list prices” and supposed discounts.
This one nearly doubles the actual “list price” from the manufacturer.
It is insulting to treat your customers with so much disdain.
I feel a class action lawsuit on the horizon.
That’s a bit of a stretch. Inflated MRSP is pretty much standard operating procedure at discount retailers. I don’t think it’s a big deal, but it is worth pointing out. It’s still a pretty good price on this tent, as near as I can tell.
If anyone is interested in what the inside looks like:
I have shopped on Woot for the past several years and MSRP gripes comes up pretty often - if it bothers you, why do you shop/visit Woot?
In today’s market, new cars are going for significantly MORE THAN MSRP/sticker. For instance, the type of car I just bought goes anywhere from sticker to $11,000 more depending on the dealership. I drove 1600 miles RT to pickup my new car; to pay MSRP.
Smartypants
That triangle at the top middle gives me an “all seeing eye” vibe.

It would have been a better deal if they said the MSRP was $522 instead of $255.
I might have purchased one then.
The “manufacturer’s” website does not specify what the strikethrough number means. It could be their list price. It could be the previous “sale” price they sold it for before lowering it further. We don’t know.

Is the Feature description from the manufacture; cause gosh darn?
“In Rains: If it occurred to rain when camping, please do not worry and doors inside the tent asap.” Doors inside tent? Take the doors inside the tent , close the doors from inside the tent, make umbrellas from the doors from inside the tent?
“What’s more, the tent is enough to resist 35mph wind after being fixed by guy ropes and pegs.” Guy ropes and pegs? Sounds kinky, or sexist; either way…
I agree the engrish is rough, but “guy ropes”, “guy lines”, “guy wires” are a thing and aren’t kinky in most situations.
ok looking fair weather tent, but if it rains you’re gonna be taking on water, those bottom folding windows are just going to collect it. be sure to get yourself a good tarp to pitch above this tent.
might be fun for kids in the yard, but i wouldn’t take it for serious camping.
“Guy rops and Pegs”. I knew a girl named Peg(gy) once. Never camped with her though.
So, as far as the tent goes. I’m no expert or tester of tents but I have camped in some pretty crappy conditions and I do not see this tent as anything more than a backyard (in Arizona) use. Now, a $00.99cent tarp from HarborFrieght might help in a rain storm but I’d not use this tent w/o some kind of overhead protection (rainfly) and even then, I’d be a little leary in winds over 10mph. Not going to nit-pick on price or MSRP or whatever because even at the price it is, I’d pass as a serious outdoor tent. Next thing you know people will be selling inflatable tents… oh wait.
That car example really has nothing at all to do with the observation that not only is Woot’s use of MSRP’s liberal and often ridiculous, Woot has included here a supposed MSRP that doesn’t reflect at all what the manufacturer shows on its own website. Entirely appropriate “gripe” - the MSRP listed here is laughable and this is not at all the deal Woot wants us to believe it is.
Good morning. Thanks for the post. The MSRP has been adjusted.
THANKS for the inside view. Seems Woot would have provided this shot ?
One would think so, kinda weird…I think it looks cathedral-like.
Anyway, I don’t deserve ANY credit. ALL CREDIT goes to @Wooter825352529 who found it. ![]()
