Wow, reading through the instructions for exposing the seatbelt cutting blade sounds like a recipe for disaster. If I’d ever need to use it, I don’t think I’d remember, “do this, do that or this might break.”
I have one and its simple. Pull the quick release tab (it’s the part with the keyring) and the blade is accessible.

These are highly rated. They are lightweight and do a lot for the small size and should you ever need to use it, you will be very thankful you got it.

Wow-never really thought to carry something like this but all summer long I would hear about people forgetting babies in hot cars & then dying, so this can save a life while waiting for help!!!

That’s actually terrible advice. I highly doubt you’ll cut the seat belt with a headrest. The posts will break a window, but what if you’re upside down with your seatbelt on?
