Anyone know if this would trickle charge a battery that uses USB to trickle charge? It says it uses a USB connector but I realize that doesn’t mean it will work. I googled around to see if I could find out and didn’t find anything. I was thinking of having this keep a larger backup battery topped off.
I don’t think this has a typical usb connector to charge. It looks like a barrel type power connector by the pictures on the directions: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020663091-How-to-Connect-the-Ring-Solar-Panel-to-your-Stick-Up-Cam-Battery
If you’re pretty handy, I guess you can cut the wires up and make your own thing but I’d imagine you would need some type of circuitry to enable the trickle charging.
This may be more what you’re looking for.
This has a barrel plug. If you get this and an additional battery the ring will run almost indefinitely. If you only have one battery the charge rate is too slow.
